Chapter 32: Corporate Sabotage

---Extract from a news article written about the recent life of Lex Luthor (CEO of LexCorp), and his efforts internationally, especially in his relation to the Overwatch organisation.

Over the grey New York skyline, a city famed for its architecture, especially within the metropolis, famous for its varied styles of buildings, whether its skyscrapers are neoclassical or art deco, the buildings have varied contemporary expressions and bring great character to the city. However, in the last decade or so, a foreign invader has appeared in terms of architecture, a megalithic structure different to everything around it, casting shame upon the pitiful skyscrapers surrounding it.

Standing at three-hundred-and-seven stories tall, LexTower, headquarters of the science and business conglomerate, Lexcorp, is an architectural marvel of the modern world, beating out any other building, in terms of height, in the world. The actual design of the building, in essence, is quite classical, with two twin towers that rise from the city streets, raised high up towards the sky. Some have described the building as repressive, dominating the skyline, attempting to show a sense of supremacy over the city through its construction, whether or not that was the point in construction, it has certainly fulfilled that role.

A-lot of people compare the building to its owner, one Mr. Lex Luthor, genius engineer, scientist and businessman, coming out as one of the richest men on the planet. Not only does the building serve as his private sanctuary, to do as he wishes, but it presents an idealised image of the man, for all of New York to see.

Whether a critic of the man or not, it is undeniable that Mr. Luthor has done many and many things during his time as CEO of LexCorp. Appearing right at the end of the Omnic Crisis, Luthor was able to create weapons and scientific advancements for the newly-created Overwatch Strike Team, now known simply as Overwatch. Till this day, Luthor remains one of its closest political and business partners, advocating for the organisation in front of the United Nations, supporting its role in international peace-keeping, as well as giving it funding and developing weapons.

Luthor has been nominated for Time's Person of the Year multiple times, and has gained international acclaim for his efforts to aid struggling nations after the end of the Omnic Crisis, in terms of food and drink, and support defensively and scientifically. Perhaps he will run for president one day, we wouldn't be surprised if he got in, either way, Mr Luthor has a bright future ahead considering everything, and we wish him good luck.

Lex took a long sip from his wine glass, Jeroboam of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild from 1945, an exotic taste, and a pretty penny, over three-hundred-thousand, but today was special, and so he felt it necessary to celebrate. Finishing his brief drink, he turned to his left, his plush swivel chair swinging, his legs turning from under the dark oak table, highly furnished and polished.

Reaching out towards a pristine black remote, he pressed a button, turning on the large wide screen television which was currently talking about an evolving story in Kenya. An attractive news host was speaking from the ruins of Mombasa, giving the latest information.

"Over the last week or so an Omnic terror organisation led by their leader Regret, utilising hundreds and thousands of omnics, including fighter jets, titans and scarabs, attacked the coastal city of Mombasa, only recently being considered one of the fastest growing cities in Africa, and the world, after the Omnic Crisis."

"Occurring yesterday, with large amounts of investigation continuing on now and expected to continue on for the next few weeks, a large-scale operation has been completed through the joint-cooperation between the Kenyan military, the United Nations and Overwatch, leading to a victory for humanity, successfully encircling the Omnics within the city and defeating their leader, putting an end to the insurrection."
