(AN: So guys, we did it, we reached 50k reads on this story. Congratulations! To be completely honest, I'm not sure comparatively if 50k is a lot on this platform, compared with other stories, but it sounds like a big number, so I'm going to be proud either way. And, of course, thank you to all those who are still reading. If you are a nerd like me, I'm quite interested in the story's statistics: looking at the reading curve, there was a substantial dip in readers over time, with the first chapter at 5k read throughs, and the next few at around 2.5k each respectively. The most recent chapter now gets around 100 reads per upload, after about a week. However, don't take this as me being petty, as long as you guys who are still reading through are enjoying the stuff, then that's more fulfilling, and as I said, am incredibly grateful to all of you. I've been rereading some of the earlier chapters, the first 2/3rds of the story, there is a lot now that I would change, nearly a year on from writing this story, but it's cool to see the progression over time, and I think my writing has developed greatly, but I welcome anyone who wishes to stamp on my pride.

On a separate note, this story, as I have learned, will probably go on for a while, not going to lie, I thought Overwatch would have fallen by now, even the position that I imagined [Y/N] in at the present has shifted dramatically (Perhaps I will shed some light on my early plans if we ever get that far). Similarly, I've had a chapter introducing Genji that I originally made in October of last year, October! (fun fact: I very 'subtly' titled it "The Cyborg Ninja", jeez I wonder who that would be about!) but we haven't even gotten onto the Japan arc that I hinted towards like six chapters ago now. Similar to Oda, I keep coming up with ideas and characters, and the end horizon keeps getting further and further away, which I am enjoying. Developing the characters and world to me feels a lot better then simply pushing the plot along, like I did in the earlier chapters. Honestly, after reading through the story multiple times, one of my biggest regrets with the early chapters is that when [Y/N] first joined Overwatch, everything went by so quickly, with only one chapter per year. Now I would have loved to spend more time building rapport between [Y/N] and the original team, but you learn as you grow.

So I've been plotting, and as a separate endeavour, would you guys be interested in me making another, hopefully shorter, story that would run simultaneously to this one. There are pros and cons as with all things; it might take away from these chapters coming out as frequently (as if I release these chapters on a regular basis) but I've had some ideas for another story for a while, and would like to at least get an introduction chapter out. If anyone has any questions/thoughts, etc, feel free to voice them, love to hear some feedback, here's to 100k reads next I suppose. Sorry for the long intro, as always, I hope you enjoy the chapter!)

[16/01/2059, a day after the the capture of the Doomsday was ordered]

Reyes stormed through the narrow corridors of the Zurich headquarters, anger unable to truly encapsulate the pent-up rage he wished to release, each step he took an earthquake as he stomped, bashing open each pair of doors with great force. To his sides, Reyes was flanked by two men, McCree to his left, and Lacroix on his right, at first the men had attempted to cool down the man's growing temper, but after learning of the situation, they both quickly joined the man's crusade. It had only been a few minutes since Reyes had touched down in the mountainous nation, having to work clean-up across New Mombasa for the last few hours, the role was quickly taken away from him, the main task force taking over the operation. What infuriated Reyes the most was being undermined, he was given Blackwatch as a way to placate him, and even know that authority was being challenged once again.

Jesse had returned from his mission earlier, having convened with Gerard at the home-base, the two making idle conversation before the commander marched through their office, Reyes giving little intonation as to his plot, simply commanding, "On me, I need to have a word with Petras." The two Blackwatch agents looked at each other, confused, "What's the matter, why do we need to talk to Petras?" Gerard asked, Reyes messed around with his belongings for a few moments, depositing it in the corner of the room, turning to face the Frenchman, "They've put a hit out on [Y/N]." The cowboy and spy's confusion only grew further, but McCree also began to match Reyes' anger, "Why the hell would they do that, what happened while you guys were out?!" Reyes left the room, the two agents following closely behind, "He hasn't done anything, this is a hit job Jesse, they've been trying to pull something like this for a while, and they found the best opportunity." he answered sternly, Gerard coughed before responding, "Mon ami, give us some more information here.'' The commander kept moving forward, "That green demon from Pretoria made its way up to Mombasa, tore things up for a while before we got there, then fled. I left [Y/N] to catch up with the Goblin, next thing I know he is also considered an enemy, I endeavour to find out..."
