(AN: I'm really happy with this chapter so I hope you all enjoy reading this one as much as I did writing it!)

[10/9/2058, 2200, LexCorp Havana Port]

A rapid burst of steel erupted through the dense jungle, muzzle fire lighting up the dark of night, a flock of birds could be heard fleeing in fright from the top of the mighty trees as the gunfire continued. In the not so far distance a squad of mercenaries could also hear the gunfire, their own men most likely, they had heard many firefights over the course of the long hour, and not one had seemed to put down the beast.

Another round of fire echoed through the jungle, setting steely nerves onto their hind legs, even the most well-trained, elite Talon soldiers, men and women who had struggled through the Omnic Crisis, had not been properly trained to deal with whatever was out there. Stalking them, hunting down their squads, one by one, by one, by one, until only a few remained. The main vanguard of Talon's forces sent to this dead-end location had already been killed, reconnaissance squads scouting the battle zone finding their bodies little but mangled piles of mutilated flesh and human tissue.

A scream cried out from amidst the darkness begging, for some hope, some reprieve from the hell that they had landed themselves in, suddenly cut short mid-song. A younger soldier at the back of the squad tumbled slightly, losing their nerve, making the rest of the squad react in force, only to the vivid imagination of a young gun in their head and about to lose their life. The Squad leader issued a stern reprimand, they were Talon for heaven's sake, they had fought through warzone after warzone, they had gone where no man or machine should ever have to go. Yet this mental pep-talk did little to shake the feeling of being watched from somewhere.

What were they supposed to do to this thing anyway, it had taken down a god-damn Titan! The Talon leadership stationed here had been under the impression that they were a clean-up crew, or fighting some minor resistance, non such luck, though it would explain why so many squads had been assigned to this site, it had baffled many of the commanders ordered to watch this hellhole.

The sudden crack of wood could be heard biting through the quiet tension, followed succinctly by the entire squad ripping their firearms to the location in unison, motionlessly waiting for some sort of confirmation. Normally, it would just be waved off as an animal, but in this situation Talon knew better, three soldiers slowly advanced to observe the broken foliage.

The quick shaking of a bush on the opposite side elicited a similar response, with the group armed and facing seemingly all directions at this point, terror evident on most of the combatants. Even with their night vision equipment nothing was appearing, it was simply blackness engulfing all around them.

From the edge of the group two men had quickly been knocked down, having fallen into the dense underbrush, un-seen by the majority for a brief moment, their bodies slowly being dragged deeper into the bush. The remaining soldiers kept their watch, anxiousness growing ever still.

A lone mercenary soon followed the same fate, their head slashed quickly before falling into the dark green jungle floor, yet this caught the attention of the group, with multiple guns quickly following the attack. No effort was made to speak with the assailant, only death would solve the situation. Two mercenaries quickly advanced upon the location, keeping their rifles levelled, moving closer to their dying comrade.

Multiple rounds exploded into the back of the group, loudly and boldly, and with pin-point accuracy, hitting multiple soldiers in the back of the head, followed by a rapid burst of multiple rifles firing haphazardly around the entire area, unloading their entire magazines into the forest, hitting air. Fear only increased when the once well trained and elite soldiers had exhausted their ammunition, realisation dawning over the soldiers.
