Life Day

Life Day, a Wookiee holiday celebrated by the inhabitants of Kashyyyk. It is a celebration of the planet's diverse ecosystem and the many forms of life it encompassed. It is also a time to remember family members who had died, and the young ones who continued to bring new life to a family. Life Day was a sacred holiday, and many Wookiees considered it their duty to return to Kashyyyk in order to celebrate it. Life Day is held once every three local years for many generations, but it became celebrated more frequently as its popularity slowly grew to the wider galaxy. Despite its name, the holiday could also be celebrated over the course of at least a couple days. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Life Day's importance to the Wookiees had become more pronounced. Because Wookiees were spread across the galaxy, either for personal reasons or due to their enslavement to the Galactic Empire, the holiday was celebrated as a way to remain in touch with their history. Outside of the traditional Wookiee holiday, the term "life day" or "lifeday" is sometimes used to describe the anniversary of one's birth.

"After I blew Adas's ebon armored, unusually charcoal-colored skinned ass to kingdom come and revived all the Eternals, most thanked me while a few-- didn't. I don't care what anyone thinks of me, cause despite all I had done for the past millennia of living. . .it was for protecting all the ones I love and care about. My kids, such as Nymph, Maxi, Luna, and Mark need more good stories about me than the one that a few Republic Generals and Jedi had been tellin. When it mattered, killing Adas and the Dark Triumvirate. . . I did something truly right, and it wasn't to prove anything, it wasn't to get anything in return, hell it wasn't just to save me or my people's asses. It was to save everyone else. Whether my little brother's know this or not, especially Delvargus--they are the ones that will forever and always be better than me. And if they think I don't know that. . . . then they hadn't been paying attention. Me and the CIS and N.A.T.O. will always protect everyone, whether they like it or not or whether they like us or not. True heroes always do what is right because it is right. I hope Dj becomes Grand Master again and comes back home, cause the Omniverse will need him. Me, Mom, and Sonic will need him. Forever and always.
