I had put my helmet back on and moved quickly to help defend the clones from incoming fire, The Umbarans had came back in full force this time as they rained heavy fire down on us, some clones didn't even get a chance to shoot back as our battalion took heavy loses, I was on the defense, managing clones having them take cover as Krell just watched from the back lines, there was nothing I could do to make him fight, so it was just me and the clones, what made matters worse was enemy fighters had started showing up, they kept on wiping out our men with attack runs, I managed to crush one with the force causing to explode, but there were still too many for us to take.
Y/N: Keep the line strong! Don't give them anything! No mercy!
I fell back to where Rex and some clones were, Krell had come out of hiding to see our progress, Kix was helping some wounded as Krell received a transmission from Obi wan.
Obi-wan: The capital city's too fortified, We need your battalion to help us take it.
Y/N: We're preoccupied, these bastards don't stop!
Krell: Resistance from the Umbarans has been greater than anticipated.
Y/N: You don't say?!?
I deflected some blaster bolts as multiple Umbarans were seen on top of giant plant tree, I used the force to crush the stalk and bring it crashing down on some soldiers, Obi wan continued.
Obi-wan: We've gathered intel on an airbase to the west, it is re-supplying the capital's defenses.
Tup: Incoming! Incoming!
Rex: Get down, get down!
The men took cover as I kept on deflecting bolts back at Umbarans.
Obi-wan: If you could capture that airbase, it will sever the capital's supply lines, allowing the rest of our forces to move in.
Krell: I'll see to it that the airbase is placed under our control.
Obi-wan: Remember, General Krell, the entire invasion depends on your battalion.
The call ends as I backed up behind cover to hear what Krell was gonna say.
Krell: Captain Rex, have those coordinates mapped and all troops ready to move out immediately!
Rex: Yes, General!
Y/N: Fall back to a safe location! I'll cover us!
Krell: Understood.Don't take too long.
Krell backed up with the clones as I came out of cover to keep the clones covered, they began to move out as Umbarans tried to follow them, I intercepted them by throwing the tree plant thing from earlier at them, crushing a few and knocking some over, a few tired to charge me only for me to send lightning at them, causing them all to scream and fall dead, I notice they had started to fall back, I used this time to run back to the retreating battalion, they had all started to go off in the direction of the air base, we all came up to a hill and could see the base, there was only one real way to get there.
Rex: (scouting the route) There's a base there, all right, and it's heavily guarded, At least three tank divisions, plus gun.
Krell: We'll advance along the central gorge and engage their forces in a full-forward assault.
Y/N: Gonna have a hard time down there, very narrow...
Rex: General L/N is right, we would have to move in single squads, Perhaps a closer recon will tell us if there's a more secure route.
Krell: Obi-Wan and the other battalions are holding off the enemy right now while they wait for us to take out this base, We don't have time to look for a more secure route.
