Warnings: anxiety, that's it

~

Everything was too much for you. Ajax laughing at a joke too loudly and Enid talking extremely loud to Wednesday set you off. The problem that set you over the edge was the werewolves and howling. Your mind was racing a thousand times per second about so many things. One deep feeling being that nobody cared about you, they all seemed to be in conversations while you were just sitting with your head laid on the table.

You lift your head to look around the quad and find yourself staring at a mural on the wall in front of yourself. Everything was melting together into one big noise. You felt like it was all going downhill, including your staggered breathing. But you didn't notice that you were crying or even shaking. You were just out of it. Too overwhelmed with your surroundings.

Feeling a hand on your shoulder, you jump and blink back into reality. Finally feeling the tears running down your face and the way you were trembling. You needed to get out of here.

"Hey, baby. Look at me." Your boyfriend's voice rings out and you slowly turn your head to look at him. You hadn't even noticed your entire table had gotten quiet. "Do you need to get away?"

You go to say something but there's nothing there. You're too focused on staying in this world and not back in your foggy anxiety mindset. Instead, you nod and grab his arm. He nods in understanding and immediately takes control. He remembers he let his other friends use his room so he thinks quickly about finding any quiet room nearby as you follow.

When he finally finds it he pulls you in softly and shuts the door. It's a big space luckily and he shifts to where he's standing in front of you holding your hands. "Is it okay if I continue to touch you?"

You don't answer and he lets go and knows what he has to do, you're way into your head. Still crying and he knows you don't know where you are. "Look at me. In my eyes, please." He uses that stern tone that he knows will have you listening. You move your head up and look him in the eyes.

"Good girl, thank you. Now, can I touch you?"

You nod and he delicately grabs your hands, you're still trembling. "Nuh uh, keep eye contact with me." He gingerly commands as you go to look away. "Copy my breathing."

He breathes slowly in a way that he knows would calm you down.

Knowing you're starting to calm down he quietly asks. "Are you okay? Can you hear me clearly?" When you nod again he's moving his hands to wipe the tears that are still moderately falling down your cheeks. "It's okay. I've got you, you're safe. Listen to the room, it's quiet. It's just me and you." He whispers. When he sees that you're fighting back he makes a swift move.

"Can I hug you?" You cue a yes and he wraps his arms around you allowing your head to rest on his chest. His hands massage your back in a relaxing manner to keep you here with him. He's laying soft kisses on the top of your head to remind you of his previous safe comments.

After a few minutes, he feels you move back and lets his arms go loose around you. "You okay? Feel better?"

"Yea, thank you." Your voice is still small but he knows you've broken free from your mental prison.

"Good. We'll spend the rest of the day in my room, okay? I'll kick them out. I'll make the trip there quick, yea?"

"Yea."
