The moonlight washes over his face like a paintbrush of his pretty boy features — his nose looks delicate and otherworldly, hair in a half-up that keeps it from falling into his face. He knows you're looking, he always knows when you're looking, but he doesn't look over to you right away. Instead, Xavier lets you stare for some minutes, before he turns to you. You can swear that, with the light only hitting him from one side of his face, he looks like a creature sent from above.

"What's on your mind?" Xavier asked softly, an amused smile coming to his lips because oh, aren't you his favourite person. It feels so intimate, that label — you're his favourite person. You make him calm, you make him feel like he actually deserves the privileges and small things in life.

You don't answer, by now you're sure you're speechless. Instead, your fingers intertwine with his and you pull him slightly closer. It's close enough for the chilly breath fogging up in front of his lips to touch yours, but you do not care. There's not a single idea in your mind other than the feeling you get when you kiss him, that rush of adrenaline and pure emotion jotting your heart. So, you do, you lean in and you kiss him like you're afraid he might break.

His lips welcome you — you're no stranger. Still, it always feels like the first time, the softness of his, the warmth of yours even with the cold weather that forces you two to wear coats now that you're outside the greenhouse. Neither of you could ever get tired of each other's taste.

Xavier's fingers play with yours as he kisses you back, and you can't help but smile. "You" You mumble under your breath, when for a second you're not kissing yet. Xavier forces himself to stop, your lips brushing delicately. "It's always you"
