JO
The last three days of the week, they ended rapidly. Jared and I finally have made up, my mother returned from her trip in Pakistan (she is an on-site reporter), and I easily passed my first year exams (moreover, in the business school I've always dreamed about !!!). To celebrate, my sister (and best friend) Kelly has booked a table at Pivot Bar & Bistro, the best restaurant I know in London.
- What are you in the mood for, tonight ? Kenny asks me, contemplating the menu.
- Hm... still thinking about it...
- Stop that. We all now what you are going to...no ! Let me guess : medium rare meat, green beans, homemade mashed potatoes and pepper sauce right on the side, just to add spicy. Am I right ?
- Nah...I am too predictable, I want to be more surprising, you see ?
I focus a little more on my large menu card, and declare after much consideration :
- Let's take a medium rare meat, with green beans, homemade mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce right on the side. Is it enough unexpected ?
Kelly starts laughing out loud. It's mad, we are so different from each other it's almost impossible to guess we are sisters. She looks like a Victoria Secret's model. She has stunning blue eyes, long black hair, and the most smooth skin you'll ever see. The only thing we have in common is the hair. But mine is short, with a fringe.
- That's perfect !
But in spite of all these differences, we are really close. That is maybe why my parents never were worried about letting me alone with my big sister when I was younger, even though she is too much a party girl for them.
After the dinner, Kelly told me about a place. The Hutt, she calls it. It's a kind of home-made night club, where she loves to go when she wants to party.
- The owners are like...British Gadbys, she says with a smile. I met one of them, last week.
I look at her with a smirk.
- Anything to tell me ?
She cannot stop smiling, that's hilarious.
- So what ? I asked, finishing my coke. It's your boyfriend ?
- Let's say I'm on the way.
I laugh.
- Anyways, she continues. I want you to take me to his house. The Hutt.
- Okay, so you're using me, again. You're supposed to be the big sister. When are you going to get your licence, exactly ? I'm tired to be the taxi.
- Stop acting like dad, Jo ! And I'm sure you love to be the taxi, she replies, with a smile. Come on !
- Okay, only if you pay the gas.
- You're serious ?
- I cannot be more serious.
After a minute of thinking, she finally agrees. And we were already heading to this mysterious place.
