JO

The day after, I directly went to work. We're on Thursday, and I don't have school on Thursday. I know what you may think, but I really don't want to take some rest. Taking some rest means staying at home, and staying at home means getting stuck with Jared. And I won't let that happen.
I am not suicidal.
So, determined, I left my apartment to reach Tesco Express. And I worked the entire day.
Weeks were getting similar. A routine took place, during which I was alternating between school, work, and homeworks.
Fortunately, a call get me out of this boring routine. It was from my sister, Kelly. She told me our brother was back in London, after all this time.
But before you ask : yes, I have a brother. His name is Peter, by the way. He is blond haired, always smiling, and back from a long trip he did with a cousin, in Italy.
Mom then called me in turn, joyful. She proposed me a family dinner, to welcome back Peter and this cousin I don't really know.
That is why, exeptionally this Saturday morning, I am having dinner in my childhood home instead of having my 30 minutes break at work.
And I'm grateful for that.
- Did you cut your hair recently ? Peter asked me after having eaten. They look shorter.
- No, I didn't.
- Really ? Something has changed in you, but I don't see what.
- Something good, huh ?
My brother makes a fake smile to bother me. He has always loved teasing me. That's why we were often arguing in our childhood. We're not so close, even today.
- Sure.
He helps me with the dishes while asking :
- How's work ?
- I'm still tidying Tesco Express' shelves, if that's what you mean.
- Oh. Cool, Peter says ironically.
- Stop laughing at me ! It's just a part-time job. You won't laugh when you'll beg me for money, when I'll be a business woman.
Peter suddenly starts laughing. His laugh kinda offends me. Does he think I am not able to open my own company ?
- What ? I ask, hurt by his non-verbal comment.
- Nothing.
He puts down the plate he was washing to look at me in the eyes.
- I was just wondering...why don't you just work in a bank, like normal people do ? he suddenly asks.
- Because I am not normal ?
- I'm serious. If you want so much to work in a company, why don't you work in dad's one. AI pays, nowadays.
Indeed, our dad is a company owner, specialised in car AI. In other words, he finds new tricks to make humanity weaker.
Dad mentioned many times his desire to work with me, as I study business strategies. That's what Peter is talking about.
- I want to do it by myself.
- Why ? It would be easier...
- That's the point. It's not fair. I want to do it by myself so anybody would criticize me for being born with this advantage.
Peter stops laughing but makes a mocking smile while saying ironically :
- I'm so excited to see that company launching.
Then, he left me in the kitchen.
