JO
Like we planned, my sister and I were in front of the Hutt at 8pm. But the party that was going on in it wasn't exactly the little party Erin told me about. Like the first night I have been in the Hutt, it is crowded and noisy. I am deeply disappointed, as I trusted Erin when he told me we wouldn't be a lot. Because of him, I have to deal with my stress harder than I thought.
- I'm going to get us a drink, Kelly tells me loudly, to be heard despite the music. You want something special ?
I look at the crowd, drunk and yelling like animals.
- Get whatever you find.
I regret I didn't follow my sister, because I find myself alone, in the middle of a crowd of people I don't know.
And it's awkward.
After many minutes of absence, Kelly is back with only one glass of beer.
- Jo, did you know our brother was here ? she suddenly asks me.
- Peter ? Are you sure you're not mistaken ?
- I AM SURE. It was him. Oh, and, sorry, they don't have anything without alcohol. Oh, look ! she yells. Malcolm is there !
I follow her gaze until I find the red-haired guy. We spent the rest of the night with Malcolm and a couple of friends. I recognize some of them, that were with Erin the day I caught them stealing. But Erin is untraceable. I ask everyone I meet, but no one have seen him tonight. Only Malcolm told me he was here at the beginning of the party, but then disappeared.
I could have give up. But tonight, I don't know exactly why, I'm determined to find him.
Maybe I'm so bored to the point that I miss him. Maybe I'm simply a good friend, worried.
Wait. Are we even friends ?
I should not be that hopeful.
