JO

We stayed in eachother arms in silence. I feel good. In peace. Erin put words on what I was feeling.
Here it is, the feeling of lightness I was searching by telling Jared the truth. I found it with him.
In his arms, everything seems easier. I like it.
- You smell like vanilla, I tell him.
He strokes my hair softly. My head. My neck. His hands are comforting.
- It is SO not vanilla, he retorts smiling in my hair. You're so bad at this.
- Then, what is your perfume ?
- I don't know either.
- You don't have a clue about what kind of perfume you bought ?
- You start judging me again, watch out, he teases me.
We laugh together before separating our bodies. I wipe off a last tear before I sit on the bed.
- So...did you inaugurate it ? I ask by showing his bed.
He takes several seconds to answer.
- Would you be disappointed if I'd say yes ? he laughs.
- Not really, to be honest. Not surprised neither. But if you want to know everything, I'm a bit disgusted.
I get out of the bed and sit on the floor.
- You really dramaticize everything ! he says by watching me moving away from the bed. I changed my sheets, just so you know. I'm not that gross.
- You are gross enough to ask a stranger to dance for you and your boys. On a table. Naked.
- First, it wasn't my idea. Secondly, she wasn't naked. Then, she was payed for it. That's not gross, that's just a work like any other.
I look at him seriously.
- You really mean what you say ? I ask.
- No.
- So we both agree that I'm right ?
- No.
- Alright.
I like to laugh with him. It is kind of natural. I feel like I don't have to search my words to please him anymore. I'm not afraid of him anymore.
Erin lengthens on the bed, and I join him several minutes after. We're quiet, like the last night we were in his room. A comfortable silence, that I break instantly.
