- Thanks Alex, for the invitation. I love you my brother.
Esteban, a guy who is ordinarily shy in class, is completely drunk. He hugs Alex and me before leaving with a girl who was walking him home, Cheryl.
- I think it's time to go home. Are you guys staying here ? Cheryl asks us, as we both didn't move from our chairs. Everybody else has already left, we were four to be still at our table. Esteban, Cheryl, Alex and I.
- Are you tired ? Alex asks me. Do you want to leave ?
- No, I'm okay if you're too.
- Alright, bye guys, Cheryl says by moving away. See you on Monday.
Alex and I stayed another hour in the restaurant, talking about anything and everything. What I love about him is his simplicity. He is ordinary, never into troubles. That feels so good.
- I don't want to sound heavy, you know ? he says. So tell me if you think I'm heavy, okay ?
- Go on, I'll tell you.
- Are you single ?
I take a big sip of my glass of beer I just ordered.
- I am, I admit.
- Good to know, he says with a nice smile.
- Are you ? I ask in turn.
- Yes.
- Good to know.
We left the restaurant around 22:00 pm. Alex was still so sweet with me, even after two glasses of beer.
While I am telling him goodbye, he kisses me on the lips. I immediately step back, surprised by his sudden move.
- Shit, I...I'm sorry, I should have asked you. Sorry.
- No, it's okay, I swear him as he was looking embarrassed. I just need a little more time...
Alex nods his head then asks :
- But, be honest with me. I need to know if I have a chance or not, so I won't waist my time, you see ?
He is talking with a big smile, as always, but I hear stress in his voice.
- I really like you, if that's what you mean.
He laughs loud.
- I like you too, in fact, he asserts by crossing his arms on his chest.
I smile silently while saying :
- See you, Alex.
