One week later

I never thought that my life would've came to this, I never expected this out come to happen but it did and I wouldn't change it for anything else in the world. It is like a message from god, that he has been listening to me throughout these years and finally answered my prayer. I am glad that I got my other half back in my life and I am auntie on top of that. It truly is a faith and pure hope in all this reunion.

My eyes crinkle in delight and amusement as I watch my two twin niece and nephew with love and care. I've been spending time with these two and my brother for the past week, today was my off day from work so I'm officially doing a whole day with them that little pop ins during the week. I see myself in Vera and Zayn in Jesse.

It's so similar that it is crazy, I just hope they don't get the sibling curse like we did. But I push that thought down, to not overthink the possibility even though I would fight until my dying breath to protect this two munchkins. The hair brush in my hand as I run it down the five year old girl, humming softly under my breath to 'my girl'.

Jesse sits up on the dressing table in front of Vera and I as he messes about with the make up, cringing every so often when he gets to something he doesn't know and I would tell him. I laugh at his comments of why should girls wear so much make up to look like a birthday cake or plastic barbie.

I scolded him when he said his sister would look ugly with make up on but Vera seemed to take it easy and thanked his compliment. I smile softly between their playful bickering. Another example of what me and Zayn were like, when we kids. We never argued just playful banter between the both of us. But if we were in a argue it would be rarely and be serious to last for weeks but in the end we would make up.

"Talkin' 'bout my girl" I sang underneath my breath, placing the brush to the side as I started parting Vera's hair to do ditch plaits.

"You have a beautiful voice auntie Zahra." Vera comments, looking at me with wide eyes through the mirror.

"Thank you munchkin." I smiled, kissing the crown of her head.

"What's the song called, Zeze?" Jesse speaks up after a couple minutes of quietness as he put make up on his baby sister in concentration.

A small smile on my face doesn't falter, looping the hair underneath the other piece before speaking. "It's called My Girl by The Temptations."

I pulled another piece and put it underneath another piece of hair, my eyes flickering up every so often to make contact with Jesse and Vera's curious eyes. "It was a song my father used to sing to me all the time when I was around your age."

"Grandpa Nicky?" Vera questioned.

I stare down at her in confusion. "You know Nick?" I asked shocked.

Jesse shakes his head in reply for Vera. "No only pictures, dada talks about his life all the time to put us to bed. But it was mostly about you." He exclaimed, tapping the make up sponge on Vera's face.

"He really talked about me?"

"He talked about you all the time, auntie Zahra. Talking about you is what made him happy for them couple minutes of telling us about you." Vera said with a chirp, swatting Jesse's hands out of her face but gives up when he continues to put mascara on her lips. I can't keep him seriously.

"Oh yes! I love when dada is happy. He missed you very much." Jesse exclaimed, setting down the mascara to the side before eyes widening when he noticed it was for eye lashes. He sneakily looks at Vera's face, seeing she wasn't looking and quickly dispose of the evidence into the bin.
