chapter 42 - the unforgivablesSebastian's Perspective
"No."
Y/n let out a sound of disbelief. "What do you mean, no?"
I shrugged as I got up from the grassy tiled floor, wincing from the lingering pain of the Cruciatus Curse. "I mean, no. That is final, Y/n."
"And, why not?" She also got up, crossing her arms with an annoyed look.
"Why do you think?!"
Part of me already knew what she was going to say before she clarified which spells she wanted to learn. Still, her words made me want to sink into the ground because I didn't want her to go through what I did with the Dark Arts.
She has told me, time and time again, that her family never even used the Unforgivables. Unlike the Gaunts—the family she was going to marry into.
Fuck, I shouldn't have thought of that because now I was thinking about how she should marry me instead. I wasn't about to say that though. Such delusional thoughts, if I do say so myself. And I was thinking way too forward!
Everything I felt for her was indescribable. She was every beautiful thing combined in this hell-forsaken land. So yes, perhaps someday I will marry her...
I shook the thoughts out of my head. Again, way too forward of a thinking. I wasn't even sure if I had the right to even think about them.
"I need to learn the spells, Sebastian. Remember when you offered to teach them to me last year? Why not now?"
Her words brought memories to resurface in the back of my mind like dominoes toppling over, right after one another. I was consumed in the Dark Arts thinking it was all for Anne, but little did I know, until it was too late, that falling into the rabbit hole had corrupted my mind bit by bit.
Fifth Year - Winter
"Sebastian, stop! Please!" Y/n pleaded as she blocked my uncle's attack, the inferi surrounding her at the same time.
She was telling me to stop when she was the one getting attacked by my uncle?? Was she insane??
"I am saving you!" I argued, running to her side. "I got you into this mess, I'm sorry!"
She twirled and cast Stupefy. "We can talk about it later! Let's take care of the inferi—" she screamed, an inferi swiping her side. Blood began to pool down her arm, making me panic.
"Y/n!" I quickly blocked a spell from Solomon before twisting around to clutch her bleeding arm.
"No!" She broke away from me to cast Diffindo to attack Solomon, leaving blood on my palm that filled my nostrils with an iron scent.
"You both need to be stopped. You have gone far enough!" Solomon kept casting spells in her direction.
Y/n and I put our backs together, wands out. She kept fighting Solomon while I tried to keep the inferi off her. I was exhausted and just as bloodied as her, but all I could think about was wanting to get her away from here.
I could've kept control of the damned hellish creatures if Solomon never meddled with the relic and destroyed it! What was it with him that always refused me to help Anne? He'd put down any attempt I made no matter how innocent they were at the beginning. I couldn't fathom it. Why? Just why?
