Sebastian's Perspective

"Y/n, please..." I breathed out, whispering to her. "Will you stop that?"

At the front of the Charms classroom, Professor Ronen paced while lecturing us on a counter-charm known as Anti-Alohamora. But all my focus was on Y/n, who was relentlessly bobbing her leg up and down under the table.

"What? I'm not doing anything." She was breathless, eyes unfocused while pretending to be captured by the professor's lecture.

"You are doing something, and it's not something I like very much."

She scoffed. "You like everything about me."

"Y/n," I drawled in warning.

"I'm not doing anything," she repeated.

I sighed and placed my hand on her leg, firmly grasping it in place. Blush crept up her cheeks as she immediately stopped her movement.

Keeping my voice low with a half-grin, I said, "Thanks. I love you but you're driving me insane with it."

"Oh please, it wasn't that annoying," she countered, realizing she had indeed been doing something.

"You always call me out on it when I do it," I argued back.

"I—"

Professor Ronen cleared his throat, raising a brow at us. "Mister Sallow. Miss Gray. If you could please pay attention. Unless there is something you would like to share with the class?"

I spoke before Y/n could defend us. "Apologies, Professor. We were just discussing the spell."

Garreth and Poppy snickered behind me, and I could feel Imelda smirking from the other side. Our other friends looked oblivious, at least.

Professor Ronen continued with the lecture. Still, I could not focus, worry gnawing at my gut.

I couldn't miss the way Y/n seemed restless in her seat, constantly fiddling with her charm bracelet. Her eyes were focused ahead, but they looked lost.

All I could do was reach over with my hand and intertwine it with hers under the table. I squeezed her smooth hands firmly, steadying her trembles. Though she wasn't looking at me, I saw a faint smile brush her lips.

By the time we'd been tasked to take notes on our parchments, just before practicing the actual spell, I took the opportunity to talk to her again.

"Something's wrong," I observed in a whisper.

She focused on her parchment, delicate hands gliding the quill across its surface. "Just a regular day then."

"Y/n."

She sighed, dropping her quill and then looking at me. "I'll explain later. I just don't think right now is the time."
