Sebastian's Perspective

The Great Hall was bustling with students sharing excitement for this day, although some were more annoyed than excited, it didn't lessen my own mood. It was Sunday, so everyone had extra energy to spend, the space feeling more crowded than usual.

Some were giving out flowers, while others were comparing their love leaves to each other. The ones Lenora was giving out yesterday.

Garreth, Ominis and Amit were sitting with me at the far end of the Slytherin table, chatting about some nonsense. I could mostly hear Ominis grumble in annoyance.

But despite the boisterous crowd, it was as if no one else existed except her. Time always slowed down, turning everything into a whisper whenever she was in my peripheral view. I couldn't stop staring at her from across the room.

There she was, minding her own business by the fireplace and throwing her head back, laughing with Natsai, Poppy and Imelda, her beautiful face basking in the spring daylight streaming through the nearby windows. Their hands were already full of red roses, but most of all Y/n's. She was gleaming, putting her face near the flowers to give them a sniff.

She wore an emerald green dress today, and I couldn't help but imagine her tonight, switching the green for the red one I sent her last night.

"Have you sent her one?" Garreth asked beside me.

It took me a few moments to tear my gaze away from Y/n and to realize Garreth was talking about the roses. "No, I haven't. I don't think it's a good idea," I shrugged.

"Why not? We," he gestured to Amit and Ominis, "gave all of them one. It could be a sign of friendship too, no one will know."

Not that Garreth and Amit knew about my secret relationship with Y/n, but it was no surprise they've felt some shift between us since the holidays. I was used to their teasing by now.

"Constance is still handing out the roses, Sebastian. Better grab one to give out before it's too late," encouraged Amit.

The whole "handing out roses thing" was Constance's idea for Valentine's Day. She set up a table off to the side in the Great Hall encouraging everyone to grab one and give them to people they fancy, or as Garreth explained, for friends.
