Y/n's Perspective

"Well? I'm here," I voiced cooly, my hands on my knee that I've crossed over my left leg.

Marvolo flashed a smug grin. "I see that."

"What do you want?"

"Now, now, I'm not here to cause trouble. Unless you do." He sighed deeply while keeping that wicked grin, fishing a small clear pouch out of his pockets and sliding it over to me.

I could've laughed at the offer of casual civility using a bag of candies. Strawberry Fizzing Whizbees.

"You've got to be joking," I chuckled in a mocking tone.

"You like these, don't you?"

I kept my face neutral, eyeing the candy then him. "Anything from you is poison. No thanks."

Marvolo's chair creaked under his weight as he leaned forward and took a candy, popping it into his mouth and chewing. He smirked, gesturing at the bag of candy while keeping his eyes on me.

I just stared, the beat of my heart and the gusting wind outside the slightly opened tower windows the only sound. My gaze narrowed, his arrogant ass continuing to chew. The candy cracked between his teeth.

"You're stubborn as ever, and yet you haven't lost your obedience. Not all of it, considering you listened to me and you're here. You're a riddle I can't always understand."

I scoffed. "This isn't me obeying. This is me bargaining."

"Bargaining?"

"Yes."

He chuckled darkly. "There is nothing to bargain for, Y/n. All you need to do is to come with me, that is all."

I leaned back against the chair and crossed my arms gracefully, tapping my fingers slowly. "Why? So you can use me as a weapon again?"

"Perhaps, I don't want you as my weapon. Perhaps, I just want you this time. How about it?"

My crimson lips thinned. "I don't believe you."

"I could kill everyone in this party of yours if I wanted, yet I am not, because I am willing to give you a chance to give yourself up willingly," he drawled.

"I could. But I won't. Not yet." I challenged him with a stare, my shoulders rigid.
