Sebastian's Perspective
It was late April by the time the last Quidditch game got scheduled. The professors had taken it easy on everyone considering the events of the previous months, delaying Quidditch and other activities in the process to help everyone cope.
They had tried to cancel school for the rest of the year, but everyone pretty much protested, thinking it was better to have each other in support than alone at home. Distractions were highly welcomed, and so here we were.
I strode across the Great Hall in my Slytherin Quidditch robes, brushing past giddy students in blue and bronze costumes or silver and green ones, which made it clear which house team they were in support of today.
Like last year, Ravenclaw and Slytherin made it to the final game. And oh Merlin, I could not wait for this game. Something about the fact that Y/n and I were co-captains of our respective teams lit a fire inside of me.
Even more so now that I spotted her munching on a sandwich at her usual spot in the Ravenclaw table, Constance and—surprisingly enough—Samantha with her. They were all ready in their Ravenclaw Quidditch robes.
There was a certain twinkle in her eyes that I hadn't seen for a few months, and it made my heart leap every time I witnessed it now. Her hair was braided back, a few loose strands framing her face. She was nodding about something Samantha had said, then threw her head back to laugh.
Never thought I'd see the day that they were friends, but I supposed so many things had happened that changes were bound to happen in the aftermath.
She finally saw me walking toward her mid-bite on her sandwich, which had me smirking.
"Sallow! Here to intimidate us for today's game?" Samantha said by way of greeting.
"No need, I know we intimidate you," I smirked, all three girls rolling their eyes at me. My eyes flicked over to Y/n who was chewing slowly, raising a brow at me in question. "I'm just here to give this back to you. Left it in my room last night."
I fished her Ravenclaw tie from my pocket and tossed it gently on her lap.
Her eyes widened, and through a mouthful of food, mumbled, "Sebaffstan, what in Merlih! You're embarraffing me."
"Not like we have anything to hide now." I snorted, Constance and Samantha, cackling with me. I slid a water goblet toward her, which she gladly took. "Try not to choke on your food."
"Sayyy, don't we have something to do before the Quidditch game in an hour, Sam?" Constance shook her head with a grin, eyes darting back and forth between us.
Samantha drank the rest of her pumpkin juice in quick gulps. "Oh yes, yes, totally! We must, uh... get to it quickly! Yup, so we're not late."
Y/n blinked rapidly in confusion. "What? I'll come with you!"
"No!" Constance protested. "You're our Chaser today. It doesn't concern you. You should relax, Miss Co-Captain. See you in the field soon!"
Constance took Samantha's arm and they jogged off quickly, giggling in some secret girl code I couldn't decipher.
"Samantha's Chaser too!! How come she gets to go??" Y/n argued at their backs but they were already long gone, down the Great Hall full of excited students.
