Anne's Perspective

We've been walking inside this forest for hours now, too deep inside that we've gotten further and further away from Gaunt Manor and the initial entrance we came out of from the labyrinth. It was only a matter of time before the sun would peek through.

After we watched my brother and Y/n fall into the dark pit, Ominis and I exited the labyrinth.

He had to console me that it would be fine and we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions because I'd been scared that Sebastian and his girlfriend, who also happened to be my friend, were lying dead in a cold ditch somewhere below.

Ominis reassured me it would be fine, even though I felt he was just trying to convince himself too. But he believed Sebastian was right. That there had to be another entrance or exit connecting to the labyrinth.

And so, here we were now, trekking in the night because he believed he saw a peculiar cave once when we were kids playing around these woods.

"Ominis, are you secretly luring me to my death?" I teased. "Is this your way of ending my suffering? Oh, curses, curses! When shall I be healed!" I put my palms up in the air for dramatic purposes.

"Anne..." he gave a tired sigh.

I just stuck my tongue out at him.

"Did you just stick your tongue out at me?"

I stilled, not taking another step. "No."

"You did," he accused.

"How in Merlin did you even know?!"

He gave me a smirk over his shoulder while he navigated with his wand. "Tell me. Did we grow up together or did we not?"

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes, continuing to walk. I passed him, then begrudgingly said, "Yes, yes I know. You've just sensed these things ever since we were kids. And most especially when you got your wand. Whatever."

I heard him snort behind me, the leaves rustling under his foot. "You're going the wrong way, Anne."

I grimaced a bit from embarrassment but I was too prideful to stop walking. "It's not like you know where we're going either! It's been hours, Ominis. Hours!"

After a few more steps, the rustling of his footsteps behind me went quiet. I turned around and found him nowhere in sight. So, I quickly retraced my steps out of panic, only to eventually find him again crouched down on the ground, hovering his wand above the ground and then tilting his head up to give me another smirk.
