Tears. That's all I could feel. I couldn't see. I couldn't hear. Everything was narrowed down to the tears and the pain in my chest. "Papa. Papa. Papa." I chanted, barely breathing, that stopping quickly as well as I felt a hand on my shoulder. My hearing narrowed into a hushed voice, thick with an accent. "Shhh, baby boy. It's okay. Papa's here. It was just a dream." I shook my head. "No, no, no. Not a dream. All hurt. My fault. I'm sorry." Hobie, papa, pulled me close, cradling my head to his chest. "It's okay, baby. We aren't hurt. It's not your fault." I sobbed into his chest. "I'm sorry, Papa. I'm so sorry. My fault. Love you, Papa. Don't want Papa to get hurt." His hand rubbed my head. "Papa isn't hurt. I love you too, baby bug. No reason to apologize. Let's lay down, bug. Little boys need sleep. And I don't know about my little bug but I'm tired." I felt the blanket pulled over us as he layed down. "No! No sleep. Scary." Hobie looked down at me sympathetically. "I'll be here to scare all those scary thoughts away, baby bug. You don't have to worry while Papa's here." I fought my eyes to stay open as Hobie comforted me. "Not tired." Hobie looked thoughtful for a moment. "Would Bluey help? I know a little boy who loves Bluey." I shook my head. Bluey could only do so much. Seeing all of my friends hurt or dead, no amount of Bluey could help that. "Do you want to tell me about the dream, bug?" I held onto him, "you were all hurt. You were dead. It's my fault. I'm sorry, Papa. Don't want you to die." He pressed a kiss to my forehead, "I'm not dying anytime soon. We can protect ourselves, baby bug. You don't have to worry about that."
