March 18th 2024

The room lit up as the suns glow entered through the curtains. It was nice having the sun be the one to us wake up, not some fucking notary of death. This past month and a half had been incredibly peaceful.
For the first time in years, things actually seemed okay.

"what are you thinking about?" Evangeline sat up, startling me a little, I hadn't realised she was also awake.

"the fact that we need better curtains" I muttered

"i've been telling you that for a year now" she grinned, "they keep no light out"

"oh a whole year?" I smirked

"mhm" she nodded, "I told you that night that I couldn't sleep because it was so light out... even though I was jet lagged as hell, then you told me-"

"to pull the blanket over your head and try again" I laughed

"so you do remember" she poked, "that was the shittiest advice i'd ever been given"

"it worked though" I shrugged

"debatable" she rolled her eyes

"don't do that Evie" I pulled her on top of me

"why?" she fluttered her eyelashes at me, trying to act all innocent

"Evangeline" I tilted my head

"Nathaniel" she whispered before crashing her lips on to mine.
I was never a morning person, contrary to what anyone will tell you, but she makes me one.
Simply waking up and being able to see her right beside me in all i'll ever fucking need.

He hands ran under my t-shirt and before I knew it she was pulling it off at speed. Our lips only disconnected for a second and even then, when her lips crashed on mine for a second time it somehow felt better.
My hands twisted around her waist, helping me to pull her close to me.
The heat of her body directly against mine could be felt instantaneously.
She allowed me to slip her top off, then her shorts, all whist she pushed at full force against the headboard which inevitably resulted in us going back to lying position.

Her touches were gentle yet rough all at once as her lips traced along my neck and chest.
"Evangeline" I whispered breathlessly before I turned over and flipped our positions.

Her big dark eyes stared into me. I didn't know it was possible to love someone this fucking much. Every inch of her skin was perfection.
Every word that left her mouth was perfection.
Every thing she was and did was total and utter perfection.
Everyday, without fail, she'd amaze me and i'd find yet another thing to love about her.

"what is it?" she smiled up at me

"marry me?"

Her expression softened as confusion spread across her face, "Nathan i've already married you" She giggle softly

"marry me on your own terms"

She placed both her hands on my face and pulled me closer to her. Thank fuck I had a little core strength left to hold myself up over her.

"I love you" she muttered

"is that a yes?"

"that's a yes" she nodded.

"oh thank God" I sigh in relief, "don't know what I would've done if you'd said no"

"well it's fine because it almost like i'm already your wife" she laughed

"nope" I smirked, "you're my fiancé"

"i've been demoted" She gasped

"temporarily of course"

"well as long as it's temporary, I kind of like being your wife"

"and I kind of like being your husband".
