I just about made it to her before her knees buckled.
There was so much blood, it was everywhere and now both of us were covered in it.
"go and find Greyson" I watched as my brother sprinted out of the room with Christian close behind him.
"how'd this fucking happen?" Jax muttered as he knelt down beside us, "she was behind me the whole time"
I replayed everything in my head, she was fine when I saw her earlier but then again she looked fine 2 minutes ago.
It's incredible how the body can run solely on adrenaline.
It kept her standing whilst she was loosing pints of blood.
"it must've been when she tried to run to me, you must've been hit by the same bullet"
"it- it only grazed me" he pulled his jumper off and pressed it against her causing her to let out this God awful scream.
"i'm sorry but I have to" he winced as she continued to cry.
I couldn't even bring myself to look at her. How could this be fucking happening right now?
People were starting to gather around us, all with the same expression on their faces.
"find them all" I spat through gritted teeth, "and bring them back alive"
Markus gave me a small nod before taking everyone outside with him. I trusted he could handle it, I had no choice but to.
Evie's screams continued to echo around the room.
Mila had cornered herself in the opposite end of the room, clearly freaked the fuck out and Jax sat opposite me, trying to conceal the fact that he was sobbing.
"Nathan" her cold hand loosely wrapped onto mine.
"Evie" I whispered
"it's cold" Her words were breathless, barely even there.
"here" I pulled my jacket off and attempted to wrap it around her with causing her any more pain,
"better?" I tried to force a smile on my face.
I couldn't let her see me break down.
She gave me a small nod. Her eyes watched me intently as they grew heavier.
It looked like she was simply falling asleep.
"Evangeline" I gently shook her which seemed to jolt her awake, "you need to keep your eyes open"
"I lied" her grip on my hand tightened, "I lied about Isaac"
"it doesn't matter sunshine" I ran my hands through her hair
She shook her head, "he said he was warning- warning me but i'd be smart not to tell you"
"baby you need to save your energy"
"it seemed he was implying more, I tried to get it out of him but he wouldn't let up... I didn't want him to hurt you so I didn't tell you what he said- if i'd just-"
"don't" I stopped her, "this isn't your fault"
Her eyes filled with tears, "I should have told you"
"it wouldn't have mattered, I couldn't have predicted this, you did what you thought was right"
Finally Greyson appeared with the other two. He seemed a little out of it but I was glad to see he was alive.
Xander had placed unnecessary doubt in my head.
"oh shit, you didn't say it was this bad" he hissed at Christian as he bent down beside me and Jax
"what the fuck was I suppose to say other than what I said?" Chris snapped back
