Chapter 59

I haven't really left the house except for work. All I did was stay home to watch my kids and once in a while I would hangout with someone from the gang. I haven't really talked to Bexley. I've been avoiding her as much as I could. I mean I don't mean to. I'm just so confused right now. I did talk to my brothers about it and they support it, but I just need some time to myself I think. I woke up earlier than Sodapop and Ponyboy. I'm surprised the twins weren't crying yet though. Getting up I quickly changed, brushed my teeth And went to the kitchen. I saw Darry was up already reading the paper.
"You're up early." Darry said.
"Yeah I don't know why." I said.
"Katie called. She said you didn't need to come in today. Something about it being slow." Darry said.
"Oh okay." I said and began making some eggs.
"Do you want any Darry?" I asked.
"No thanks. I've got to get to work.. oh and before I forget. Call Bexley. She wants to talk." Darry said and went to Pony, Sodapop and I's room. Sodapop then ran out all disheveled. I chuckled and ate my eggs as him and Darry left. I then went back to my room and grabbed some books. I then began to study. I didn't tell my brothers but I was trying to get my GED so that I didn't have to keep going to school. I have my test next week.
I then heard pony about an hour later as he walked into the kitchen.
"Whatcha reading?" Ponyboy asked.
"Nothing important." I said and headed into our room, put my books away and changed the twins. Once they were changed I came back out and saw Johnny and Dally.
"Hey guys." I said put the twins on floor close to me.
"Hey Courtney. They're getting big." Johnny said.
"Yeah. What are you guys up to?" I asked
"Gonna meet up with Two-bit, Aurora and Macey at the Drive In."
"Have fun." I said.
"Want to come with?" Pony asked.
"I probably wouldn't be much fun with these two. I'll catch you later." I said with a sad smile. The guys then left and I looked back at the twins.
"Looks like it's just us today." I said and laid down on the floor by them.
I heard the door open a few minutes later and saw Bexley.
"Bexley." I said.
"We need to talk." This was not going to be fun.
