Chapter 53

It's been weird trying to hide dating from my brothers. I have a feeling that Soda knows something is up with me but he hasn't really said anything. I feel like I can only hide Bexley and I dating for so long. It's only a matter of time before the guys find out. The only one who knows is Athena but that is because she is my best friend.
I was outside on the porch sitting with Pepsi and Zaylee. I was trying to think of a way to tell my brothers about Bexley, but nothing came to mind.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the front door open.
"What are you doing out here? It's getting cold." Sodapop said.
"I didn't realize it was getting dark." I said.
"Come on inside." Sodapop said.
"I think I'm going to stay outside for a bit. Can you take the twins inside?" I asked
Sodapop nodded and took the twins inside. I want to tell my brothers about Bexley and I, but would they accept it? Would the gang accept it? I mean the twins are 8 months and they could use another parent eventually, but I don't know if I trust Bexley enough that yet. I'm so confused. Mom, dad I wish you were still with us.
"You coming inside?" I heard Ponyboy ask as he sat down by me. "Man it's freezing out here."
"Pony can I ask you something?" I asked my youngest brother.
"Yeah, sure. What is it?" Ponyboy asked blowing into his hands to try to keep warm.
"Would you, Darry, and Sodapop ever-"I started but stopped myself.
"Would we ever what?" Ponyboy asked.
"It's nothing. Forget it. Let's go inside." I said getting up and walking inside followed by Ponyboy.
"Come on sis. What did you want to ask?" Ponyboy asked as I walked inside and saw Sodapop on the couch and Darry coming from his room.
"Where are the twins?" I asked ignoring Ponyboy's question.
"I just put them down for you." Darry said and sat in his chair.
"Great. Well I'm going to head to bed." I said and started to head to my room that I shared with my twin and younger brother, but was stopped when I felt someone grab my wrist. I looked over to see Ponyboy with a concerned look on his face.
"What did you want to ask?" Ponyboy asked once more.
"What is going on?" Sodapop asked.
"Courtney wanted to ask me something, but now she won't tell me anything."
"Forget it. It's nothing, now let go of me Pony." I said taking my wrist from my brother.
"You're hiding something." Sodapop said making me bite my lip.
"Just leave it alone!" I yelled shocking my brothers.
"Courtney what's the matter with you?" Darry asked.
"Please just drop it." I said.
"Courtney." Sodapop said.
"I said leave it alone!" I yelled and ran outside with tears running down my face. I didn't know where I was running, but I just needed to get away from my house for a while.
