A/N: Well hi there, sorry I've been gone, but I'm back. I think you know the drill by now. Minors DNI, and if you are a minor and do read this, DON'T tell me!! Okay then, hope you enjoy. I loved writing these.

Aokiji
The evening air carried a familiar coolness, a gentle contrast to the warmth within your shared home. Outside, the world carried on as usual, distant voices, the rhythmic waves crashing against the docks, but within these walls, there was only peace.

You sat comfortably on the couch, absentmindedly flipping through a book, though your mind had long since wandered from the words on the page.

Across the room, Kuzan reclined in his usual spot, legs stretched out, head tilted back against the armrest. A half finished glass of something sat beside him, untouched for a while now.

He looked as he often did, at ease, unconcerned, but you'd been with him long enough to recognise the moments when he was simply watching.

It was subtle at first, the weight of his gaze lingering just a little too long, the way his fingers drummed absentmindedly against his thigh.

There was nothing overtly suggestive in his expression, nothing that spoke of urgency or need, but you could feel it. That quiet pull between you, steady as the tide.

"Mm?" he hummed lazily when you finally looked up at him, amusement flickering behind heavy lidded eyes. "You're staring" you murmured, closing the book with a soft thud.

Kuzan exhaled a slow breath, stretching his arms above his head before letting them drop loosely over the back of the couch. "Am I?"

His voice was thick with drowsy warmth, but there was something else there too, something that made your pulse pick up, just a little. He didn't press, didn't push, just let the moment hang between you like the space between crashing waves.

It was always like this with him, never rushed, never forceful. Just quiet patience, letting you set the pace. You shifted, setting the book aside, and before you could second guess yourself, you moved toward him.

Not quickly, not hesitantly, but with the kind of certainty that came from knowing he was waiting for you to decide. Kuzan tilted his head slightly as you approached, a lazy smile playing at his lips. "What's this?"

"Nothing" you said softly, settling onto the couch beside him, close enough that your knees brushed. "Just... felt like being closer".

His hand moved before he even responded, the back of his fingers tracing along your thigh, light, barely there, like he was giving you the chance to stop him. You didn't.

Instead, you leaned into him, pressing your forehead against his shoulder, inhaling the faint, familiar chill of him. His other arm came up slowly, draping around your waist, pulling you just a little closer.
