A/N: I hope this is okay, I'm feeling like I could've done better with this one idk!! Anyway, thank you so much for requesting! I love Katakuri so much, he deserves all the love!
The world around you was dim and warped, shadows stretching in strange, unnatural ways. The Mirro World was never a place you felt entirely comfortable in, but after so many secret meetings with Katakuri, you had gotten used to it.
The faint, distant echo of your own breathing mixed with the occasional ripple of movement in the mirror shards scattered throughout the realm. It was eerily quiet, isolated from the chaos of the outside world, exactly why he had chosen it.
Katakuri stood a short distance away, arms crossed over his chest, towering as always. His scarf was secured over his face, just like every other time you'd met here.
No one else knew about these meetings, Katakuri was keeping this from his family, minus one of course. If Big Mom found out, you weren't sure what would happen, but you imagined it wouldn't be good, and yet, you never hesitated to come.
"Late again" he muttered, crimson eyes flicking toward you. You scoffed. "Hey, don't blame me, blame your sister". Katakuri didn't respond right away. Instead, he simply shifted his weight, the movement barely perceptible.
You had known him long enough to pick up on the subtleties, how his silence wasn't indifference, but calculation. He always chose his words carefully.
"I suppose you're here now" he finally said, voice steady. "That's what matters". You huffed out a quiet laugh and leaned back against a nearby mirror, arms crossed. "You always this sentimental, or am I just special?"
His gaze lingered on you, unreadable as always. You wondered, not for the first time, why he let you in. Katakuri didn't trust easily. He didn't need to. He was strong enough to exist in solitude, to keep everyone at a distance without consequence, but with you, things felt different.
There were no grand explanations, no confessions of trust, just these secret meetings, these quiet moments where words weren't always necessary, yet, sometimes, you wished he would say something.
"You seem tense" Katakuri observed, shifting the conversation before you could. You sighed, rolling your shoulders. "Yeah, well, it's been a long day, I was hoping coming here to bother you would make it better".
His expression didn't change, but you swore something in his posture eased. "Training, then?" he asked. "You could use the distraction". You grinned, training was always his answer. "That your way of saying I need practice?"
Katakuri tilted his head ever so slightly. "I'm saying you could use a challenge". A low chuckle escaped you. "Alright, fine, but I swear, if you knock me flat in the first five seconds, I'm calling it unfair".
His eyes glimmered with something you rarely saw on him, amusement. "Then last five seconds" he almost teased. "To make it fair". You shook your head, laughing under your breath. "You're such a bastard".
