A/N: Oops sorry kinda a late upload but I didn't want to not upload this before tomorrow so, HERE WE GO! I want to preface, non of this is canon. We have all sorts of chaos going on, set in the canon world, but I swear I just rewrote Marineford to the ideal outcome lmao! Enjoy!
Also forgot to say. I changed the ages around a bit, because otherwise she would've been 16 and Law 24. Wasn't gonna do that. So I made sure to make it so she's 18!!
The sound of Garp's boisterous laughter filled the air, shaking the leaves of the trees as he stomped up the worn dirt path. His heavy boots crushed twigs and pebbles beneath them, the weight of his presence enough to make even the rowdiest of bandits nervous.
Behind him, gripping tightly onto the sleeve of his Marine coat, was you. You were six years old, almost seven, and completely unsure of what was happening.
Your little fingers curled into the fabric of his coat as you tried to keep up with his long strides, your legs struggling to match his pace. The jungle was thick around you, the distant sounds of wild animals echoing through the air, but none of that scared you. No, what frightened you was the uncertainty of what was to come.
Your grandpa, at least, that's what you had started calling him, had been watching over you for as long as you could remember. He was loud, gruff, and spent half his time yelling at you and the other half making you laugh. He smelled like sea salt and fresh rice crackers, always ruffling your hair in that affectionate yet aggressive way of his, and now, he was leaving you here.
Ahead, the old shack came into view, and the moment you saw it, you knew the people inside wouldn't be happy about your arrival. "DAAADAAN! Get out here!" Garp's voice bellowed through the clearing, shaking the walls of the worn down house. A moment later, the front door slammed open, and an irritated voice snapped back.
"Garp, you bastard! Quit yellin' like that!". The mountain bandit in question, a messy haired woman with a cigarette barely hanging from her lips, froze the moment her eyes landed on you. Her scowl deepened. "Oh, hell no". "Yes, hell yes" Garp shot back, his arms crossed. "You're takin care of this one, too".
Dadan stared at him like he'd just said the most absurd thing in the world. Which, to be fair, he had. "The hell we are!" she screeched. "We're already dealin with Luffy and Ace! And now you're droppin off another brat?!"
From inside the house, movement caught your eye. A boy with messy black hair peeked around the doorway, his round eyes blinking curiously at you. He had a small scar under his left eye and a bright, toothy grin spreading across his face the moment he saw you, before you could react, he bolted forward.
"Oi! Gramps, who's this?!" The boy stopped right in front of you, hands on his hips as he beamed. "Can you fight?" He asked you excitedly. Garp laughed as you shuffled back. "I'm sure she'll learn. You two are gonna be growin up together after all!"
