Amethyst:
The next morning felt a little bit gloomy and depressing, a bit quiet, a bit lament, every definition for depression all in one. I looked over at Abby, who looked a bit beaten up and lament about all that had happened the previous day listening to Chief DoveFeather and FiercePounce as they were talking about what was planned for today.
Okay, remember: Be nice towards Abigail; don't make the situation worse than it already is. Should be simple enough. I told myself; remembering the lecture received that night from Summer, I went over to talk to them. "Hey, Chief DoveFeather, FiercePounce, can I talk with Abby for a second?" I asked them with concern. "I don't want her to start off today with a patrol and worsen everything."
"Sure thing, Amethyst." FiercePounce answered. "Go ahead." I singled Abby to follow me to a private area to talk.
"How are you feeling, Abby?" I asked her-she looked at me and said nothing to me at first, but she managed to say: "All right, I suppose."Amethyst: "You know I can clearly see that that's a lie, right?"
Abigail: "... I'm... not... well."
Amethyst: "I can see that. Did you sleep any last night?"
Abigail: "Not really. After what happened yesterday, I had trouble going to sleep. Even after talking with Summer, I just... couldn't sleep."
Amethyst: "You know, it wasn't your fault."
Abigail: "The whole argument was my fault and now look what has happened; look at me, Amethyst, I'm an emotional wreck! I couldn't sleep last night, my brain hurts, my body feels slightly numb, and... I just can't get the site of his body out of my head, I just can't!"
Amethyst: "Look, Abby. I know how much this hurts for you, but we just can't beat up ourselves over something that we can't go back to fix now."
Abigail: "I might as well best myself over it--I deserve it anyway. Besides, it's not the first I've been beating up like this before. By this point, I'm kinda used to it now."
Amethyst: "Okay, now you're just talking negative about yourself over something that happened in the past and what's happened now. This isn't right."
Abigail: "It should be."
Amethyst: "Look, Abby. I know it'll take some time for you to recover from this and I understand, but please, don't beat yourself up about it."
Abigail: "But, what about today's patrols and tasks?"
Amethyst: "I'll take over for your portion today. In the meantime, just try and get some sleep, I can see that you really need it right about now."
Abigail: "Okay, I'll try my best."
Before I left, I looked over at Abigail and I told her: "Whenever we get back home at some point, I want you to read over Isaiah 61:7, Romans 10:11, and 1 John 1:9, and think about the message that each one of them delivers."
Abigail: "I'll try and look into it."
Isaiah 61:7, a verse in which states, "Instead of your shame, you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land, they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs."
Romans 10:11, a verse in which states, "For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.'"
1 John 1:9, a verse in which states, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
All three verses have one thing in common; they all relate to one who is filled with guild and regret within their hearts and cannot forgive themselves for what they did--even if they did sin, Jesus would still love them either way as he said to love your enemies as much as you love yourself.
...
I went to go join Milly as the day was getting started. "How'd it go?" Milly asked me. "She's still upset. Let's just give her some space and time." I told her.But this unfortunately was only the beginning of something dreadful and terrifying.
