Chapter XIV: The Fifth Returns.

Abigail:

Teleportation.

The fifth power that had been proposed by BoulderHeart upon suggesting it to the leaders which was then approved to be the fifth power. Those who went on to possess this power would be given the ability to teleport to different areas plus create, use, and summon portals to for combat reasons and transportation reasons as well. The last one to have inherit this power was AdderFur up until his eventual, yet sudden death. And I was told that I would be the next one to inherit this power when the time came.

AntlerClaw:

Combat Manipulation.

The thirteenth power that had been suggested by CrowWing upon finding Ottila, her brothers and sisters out in the woods during a patrol, where he had decided that she and her siblings would be the chosen animals to represent the second eight Protectors of the forest– those who went on to possess this power who be given the ability control and use better combat skills when it came to fighting against their enemies. The last animal to have inherit this power was FierceHeart up until his eventual, yet sudden death. And I had been chosen to represent this power.

But of course, there would come a time when our powers that we had yet to receive would make themselves known only for a brief moment just so we could get a basic idea of what to expect when we were given those powers.

The next day, we met up our meeting area as usual, where Jemma informed all of us about what she and DuskFire had experienced yesterday when the Withered Souls and Blood Howlers attacked the patrol they weren't part of that same day when it happened. "Looks we're now down to eight more protectors and Abigail and AntlerClaw could be the next ones to experience the sudden presence of their powers that they've been chosen to represent for this generation." Amethyst said when Jemma had finished. "It seems that we're each experiencing our powers in the order in which they were proposed by the first settlers of the Forest when the Venomous Loners made themselves known to the Southwest back when the animals used to reside there before it became nothing but an adust."

Abigail: "Magic abilities that come out of nowhere with an explanation. Ooh, how scary."

Amethyst: "Haha, very funny, Abigail. It's not like we have to keep an open mind about stuff like this when it happens."

Summer: "All right, you two, calm down."

Aurora: "Amethyst is right, Abby; this is something that we need to take seriously rather than just play it off as some sort of joke."

Abigail: "Pfft, why would I have anything to worry about?"

Summer: "Well, if it happens again, you should keep an open mind about it. This isn't a joke, Abigail, this is serious. I mean, damn, you've been taken this whole situation on with joking about it, I don't know why this time is different than the rest. Mark my words, kid, when it happens to you, then you'll know for sure that it isn't a joke."

BirchTail: "All right everyone, let's just settle down and not argue about this. Now, I know we're all experiencing the powers we are said to possess for this generation in the order in which they were proposed and Teleportation is said to be the fifth power that was suggested by BoulderHeart when the leaders came together to discuss the threat in the forest prior to the assassination of Chief Hunter, and Combat Manipulation was named of the thirteenth power upon finding Ottila and her siblings. And with the addition of Abigail said to represent Teleportaion and AntlerClaw said to represent Combet Maipulation, it's possible that they could be next and it might happen at some point today, you just never know."
