Chapter XXII: Just Give Them a Fair Chance.

Amethyst:

Date: August 21 - August 22, 2020.

That night, I was practically dead asleep after a long day of working in the forest and happy knowing that some of the group allowed the Spies into the group. Though, that didn't last for long as I felt someone arouse me and a raspy, quiet voice said: "Amethyst, wake up."

"Mmm…" I did not respond, but rather just turned over. Then I heard a voice shout: "Wake up, Amethyst!" I was shocked awake and wasn't surprised that it turned out to be none other than Abigail herself. "Lord have mercy, Abigail, do you really have to scare half to death just to wake me up?!" I asked in a dull voice.

Abigail: "Well, at least you're awake now. Anyways, I need to talk to you."

Amethyst: "At this hour?! Couldn't you just wait until tomorrow to talk about this?"

Abigail: "Err, can't wait till tomorrow, have to talk to you right now."

Amethyst: "Ugh, fine. Let's go outside to talk about this."

And so, we did.

"All right, what is it you want to talk to me about, Abigail?" I asked, feeling drowsy. "And make it quick 'cause I just wanna go back to sleep."'

Abigail: "Okay, okay. I'll try to make this quick as I possibly can."

Amethyst's Thoughts: "Oh, Lord, I really don't like the sound of that."

Abigail: "It's about the Spies you brought the other night and let them stay here."

Amethyst: "Yeah, what about it?"

Abigail: "Well, while I trust nearly all of them, there's only three in particular that I'm a bit cautious about."

Amethyst: "And just who would those three be exactly?"

Abigail: "Your grandmother, your grandfather, and your uncle."

Amethyst: "That's it?! You woke me up in the middle of the damn night just to tell me that you don't trust my grandparents and my uncle? What kind of person does this sort of bullcrap?!"

Abigail: "L-let me explain."

Amethyst: "All right, go ahead and tell me what I need to know and why I should be cautious of my own flesh and blood. Go on, I'm waiting."

Abigail: "Well, we all know by now that they're all from the Insolence part of the Diablos and their former position are well, being the Spies. And knowing their history, I would be careful if I were you."

Amethyst: "What should I be careful when it comes to my own relatives? They're not gonna bring any sort of harm to me, let alone, anyone here."

Abigail: "But you don't know that for sure, Amethyst! Let's also mention the fact that you just got to know them! Are you sure it was a good idea to even bring them here in the first place?"

Amethyst: "*Sighs* Listen, Abigail, I know you're acting all prestigious about all of this, but these are my maternal relatives you're talking about. The relatives I never got to meet the day I was even born that cold early morning in February 2004, the relatives my brothers and I never got to meet, the relatives my mother gave up looking for. She hasn't seen her parents in over thirty years or her own brother in over twenty-three to twenty-four years!"

Abigail: "All right, Amethyst, I think I already get the picture. But what are you trying to say besides refreshing my memory on the fact that you haven't these strangers up until now?"

Amethyst: "What I'm trying to say is to at least give them a chance at best. You're over here bothering me just because you haven't seen them up until now. But if you don't have any problem with the other Spies being around, then you shouldn't have a problem with having my relatives around either. Just please do me a favor and give them a chance at least."

Abigail: "Well, I'll be the judge at that, now won't I, Amethyst?"

She then walked back into the base where I hereher muttering, though I could not make put what she saying except for one phrase: "We'll just see about that, now won't we, Elrod?"

Does she always have to be like this, 24/7? I'm already used to her acting like a total bitch to me all of the time but this just needs to stop.

I then went back into the base, closed the door and went back to sleep, hoping for a better tomorrow as it rolled around the corner. But that, I would be so wrong about when it did come around.
