The New Light of Hope: Books I to VI.

Chapter IV: Receiving the Message.

DuskFire:

Date: June 4th, 2020.

CreamFur, Aurora, BriarFlight, ShadeFur, NightTuft, and I decided to go to the river to help Rosemary, Blizzard, Jay, Dust, and Spider with practicing their fishing skills as it was part of learning how to hunt and catch their own prey whenever the whole Division was in need of food of if they needed food at that. CreamFur and BrairFlight worked to help them with fishing practice. When CreamFur and BriarFlight dimestrated what they were supposed to do, Blizzard dipped her head under the water at that very moment and then surfaced back up with a huge brown trout clamped in her jaws. "Excellent work, Blizzard!" ShadeFur exclaimed as she came back to the shore and shaked off the excess water on her body. Rosemary then came out as with a bream in her jaws followed by her brothers Dust, who came out with a loach and Spider came out with a rainbow trout while their friend, Jay, came out with a carp. CreamFur and BriarFlight came out and looked at the apprentices. "Amazing job, everyone! This should be enough to feed the Division." CreamFur extolled to the apprentices. "Come on; let's head back so you can show the Division what you all caught!" NightTuft added in. Then we all headed back to the Division, where Aurora, CreamFur and I would receive a message; one that would be important later on.

Back at the Forest Spirits Division.

CreamFur:

We headed back to the Division where the apprentices showed off their catches to the rest of the Division to impress everyone before going inside. As we were heading inside of the camp, I caught a glimpse of blue male wolf with gray markings on his feet and tail in the form of flames, blue eyes and scar on his left eye. He looked like how I pictured BlueFire, Chief CrimsonPelt's brother and second-in-command who was one of the first animals that Aurora and the rest of the Protectors met over two years ago when they had been chosen as the new Protectors of the forest itself. Later, he became the first of the many animals that had been killed by the Diablos with my father taking his place as the new second-in-command and later took Chief CrimsonPelt's place on the twenty-forth day of the first month of snowfall. "BoulderHeart and I must speak with you, Aurora, and your sister outside of the Division." He murmured to me before he vanished. I looked at DuskFire and Aurora and said: "Aurora. DuskFire. Mind if we go outside of the Division for a few moments?"

DuskFire: "Umm... sure?"

All three of us stepped outside of the Division and waited outside to hear what needed to be said. The wolf I saw along with BoulderHeart then appeared in front of us not long after. The wolf I saw earlier approached us along with BoulderHeart. "We have something important to share with all three of you." BoulderHeart began. "CreamFur. DuskFire. Both of you, your brothers and your sisters each have an important role in your Division. And Aurora, you and your friends each have role to play as well--it is an important role that must be taken seriously. And that is the role of being the Protectors of the Forest."

CreamFur: "Are you saying that the both of us and our siblings are destined to be the second eight Protectors of the forest of the Seventh Generation?"

BoulderHeart: "Well, we made that descision long before any of you were born. But yes, yes you are."

Aurora: "Welp, looks like that mystery is solved."

DuskFire: "Should we tell out siblings about this? Or would it be best to only tell Father about it?"

BlueFire: "Well, I think that it would best if Aurora broke the news to your father and both of you broke the news to the rest of your brothers and sisters when they have the time."

CreamFur: "Sounds like a plan to me. Thank you, BoulderHeart and BlueFire for informing us about this."

BoulderHeart: "And we thank all three of you for your time."

They then left, leaving all three of us alone with information that needed to be shared.

Aurora:

We went back to the Forest Spirits Division where CreamFur and DuskFire went to inform the rest of their siblings while I went to go inform their father and leader, Chief ArrowHeart. Luckily, he just left the Den of the Co-leading Animals with MoonStone and BlackFang to his left and right shoulders, I walked up to the three, cleared my throat and asked: "Chief ArrowHeart, may I speak to you in private for a moment?"

He looked at me for a second but then answered: "Of course. I will be talking with Aurora but I will be back soon."

BlackFang: "All right, take your time, sir."

Then we went into the Den of the Leader and once settled down, he went on to ask me: "So what did you want to talk to me about, Aurora?"

Aurora: "I have just learned who the second eight Protectors are."

Chief ArrowHeart: "Really? Who are they?"

Aurora: "Your children."

Chief ArrowHeart: "So that's what the spirits have been trying to tell me this whole time, huh?"

Aurora: "You were told about this?"

Chief ArrowHeart: "I've only been told that my bloodline was destine for something great. Now that I know that this what they meant, it makes sense now. But it would also make sense as my uncle was the co-leader and later the leader of the Protectors of the Sixth Generation back when he was alive."

Aurora: "I suppose your pups are somewhat like his successors?"

Chief ArrowHeart: "Well, we all shared the same blood and from what I know, he never took a mate nor did he sire any pups. And if that's the case, then I've got a good feeling about my pups being the second eight Protectors. I know they will do well."

Aurora: "I couldn't agree more with you."
