Chapter XXVIII: The Betrayal.

Amethyst:

Date: July 28, 2020.

"Say, Amethyst, have either you or Milly seen ScarFace?" FiercePounce asked me and Milly as the day was coming to a close. "Why, so sir, we have not." Milly replied. "The last we saw, he went out for his usual late night stroll but I'm sure that he'll be back soon enough."

FiercePounce: "I sure hope so. A lot of stuff has happened recently within the past few days and all that he's doing is gallivanting outside the camp and sleeping in late when he does come back at some point."

Amethyst: "Yeahh, it kinda sounds a bit off, don't ya think?"

FiercePounce: "Well, it kinda does but I'm just glad that he comes back in one piece."

Amethyst: "Well, if you say so, but if I were you, FiercePounce, I'd keep a close eye on him. There just ain't no teliing what he might be up to right now as we speak."

Milly: "Well, is he finds himself in a sticky situation whole he's out and about all, then that's his problem, not ours."

Amethyst: "You're right, Milly, it is. I think that it would be best if we didn't dwell on it right now or throughout the entire night as it progresses. If anything does pop up in the middle of the night, we'll know what to do."

Milly: "We always understand the assignment."

FiercePounce: "Well, if you say so. But as you said, I would keep a close eye out for anything if something does come up."

Amethyst: "Of course. Well, we all know what to do from here."

Milly: "We sure do."

And we continued on with night duty from there on out where we would learn ScarFace's true intentions later on.

Date: July 29, 2020.

Time: 5:00 a.m.

We were one hour away from the wakeup call to start the day and I decided to check and see if ScarFace had returned back or not and so I got and check the Den of the Lead Animals and saw that he was nowhere to be seen inside, which worried me for the most part because whenever I went to check and see if he had returned, I usually saw him sound asleep inside of the den at exactly around five in the morning. But this time was different and he had not returned. You know what? Enough is enough, I have to know what he;s up to these past couple of nights and I'm also bringing Milly along as well. Whatever he's up doesn't sound like it's good in the slightest.

And so I went to go and get Milly.

"Milly, wake up." I whispered, arousing her back and forth to get her to wake up. "Mmm, What is it?" She asked in a husky tone. "Why are you bothering me at this hour?"

Amethyst: "It's ScarFace; he hasn't returned back from whatever he's doing and I'm starting to suspect that this might have something to do with him going against the forest."

Milly: "And what does all of this have to do with me, exactly?"

Amethyst: "I want you to come along with me and find out whether my suspicions about him ae right or not because I'm starting to think that he's doing something that we don't know about and is being very secretive about it too."

Milly: "All right, if ya say so, but let's be careful about this."

Amethyst: "Of course."

After she managed to wake up and I helped off of the ground, we quietly made our way towards to exit and began to search for him from there.
