Chapter X: The Third Returns.

Sadie:

Thorns.

The third power that had been proposed by BoulderHeart upon suggesting it to the leaders which was then approved to be the third power. Those who went on to possess this power would be given the ability to summon vines or bushes with thorns sharp enough to leave battle wounds on the enemy. The last one to have inherit this power was StoneClaw up until his eventual, yet sudden death. And I was told that I would be the next one to inherit this power when the time came.

The eleventh power that had been suggested by CrowWing upon finding Sharp, his brothers and sisters out in the woods during a patrol, where he had decided that he and his siblings would be the chosen animals to represent the second eight Protectors of the forest—those who went on to possess this power who be given the ability to control and use the wind for their own needs of defense against their enemies. The last to have inherit this power was a member of the Stream Echoes Divsion and former loner named Spout up until his eventual, yet sudden death. And I had been chosen to represent this power.

There would come a time when our powers that we had yet to receive would make themselves known only for a brief moment just so we could get a basic idea of what to expect when we were given those powers.

Sadie:

But we would also learn that they also possess a dark side to them as well.

The next day, we met up with each other as usual and as soon as Amethyst and Milly arrived, the meeting began. Amethyst was the first one to speak: "Greetings everyone and welcome the meeting. Now, before we continue, I would like to apprise everyone here that the Shade Hunters Division was attacked overnight by six rogues who came and tried to kidnap and kill StrawberryHeart, but we were able to scare them off with only one of them dying. And I would like to give credit where credit's due to Bella for her proposed strategy that she shared with us during yesterday's meeting. The strategy went as planned on our end and we managed to save StrawberryHeart and scare off the rogues from the Shade Hunters Division."

Small kudos were shared around for Bella and her plan not long after Amethyst shared the news about Bella's plan working out well in the end. "I knew it would work." She replied in afterward. "And it did." Jemma added. "And there's a good possibility that it might happen again without warning."

Summer: "That is true, and there's no telling when that may be; it could even happen again tonight, you just never know what's going to happen until it actually occurs."

Amethyst: "Agreed, Summer. Therefore, we need to keep our eyes and ears opened at all times. We will test out the method again tonight and report back on how it went."

Milly: "I agree with Amethyst."

Aurora: "Same here."

We talked on and on about what to do about the threat and what we should expect during the late night hours where Amethyst told us more about what happened the night the six animals attacked the Shade Hunters Division and we all listened to her carefully as she explained that the remaining animas
ran off when she had somehow roared at them which made them run away while the sixth one had been killed by CrystalHeart when she managed to somehow summon ice that pierced right through him, killing him instantly. Two things that were completely out of the ordinary even for a mortal human being. The situation was a bit similar to what Aurora and DawnHeart had experienced the other day. "We need to be aware of what to expect if one of us were to go through the same experince as Aurora, DawnHeart, CrystalHeart, and I went through and if we do one of you go through the same thing, let everyone know what happened at the next meeting that is held." She told us. "Do I have a clear point about what I'm trying to get at?"
