Chapter XXI: Preparing for Battle (Part I).

Sadie:

"We need to train for battle, Amethyst." I said; I had woken up Amethyst that same night after my dream. "Seriously, you woke me up in the middle of the night just to tell me that we have to prepare to fight back against our own enemies?" Amethyst hoarsely asked in a flat, low tired tone. "What other choice do we have?" I asked her. "If we don't prepare ourselves, then we'll all die."

Amethyst: "And how do you expect us to run back and forth to each Division to tell our friends?"

Sadie: "Calm down, Amethyst. Listen, we'll send four messaging animals; four for each Division that will inform everyone about this. Sound good?"

Amethyst: "Sounds good to me. And one more thing: Don't wake me up in the middle of the night about stupid things like this, okay?"

Sadie: "Can't make any promises on that one."

Amethyst: "Whatever. See you in the morning."

Sadie: "Night."

Amethyst: "Night. Oh, Lord, I'm tired."

Then we both went back to sleep, as tomorrow would not be just some ordinary day, but a productive one at that.

Amethyst:

"ReedFur, you head to the Forest Spirits Division and inform Chief ArrowHeart, MoonStone, Aurora, and Bellatrix about the battle." I ordered. The next morning already came quickly than expected and I was giving the orders of sending four messengers out to each Division to warn them about battle and prepare for it. "You got it!" ReedFur answered. "RainFog, you will head to the Shade Hunters Division and inform Chief DoveFeather, FiercePounce, Abigail, and Milly."

"Affirmative!" RainFog answered

Amethyst: "FallowHeart, you will head to the Sun Chasers Division and inform, Chief FalconTalon, CosmoPelt, and Jemma."

FallowHeart: "I didn't become a Messenger for nothing!"

Amethyst: "And MallowStem, you will head to the Night Runners and inform Chief GorseHunter, EmberNose, and Summer. Does everyone know what to do?"

ReedFur, RainFog, FallowHeart, and MallowStem: "Yes, Amethyst!"

Amethyst: "Then head to the Division I said to go to and inform the leader, joint leader, and assigned Protector of the Forest!"

The four of them then left to their assigned Divisions.

I climbed up top of a tree stump and looked down at everyone and everything thing around me. Then, with a loud enough tintamarre, I roared: "Animals of the Stream Echoes, gather around!"
Everyone was alert led by my voice and gathered around from where I was standing, curiosity filled their eyes. I stepped down from the same stump to let Sadie do the rest. Then Sadie began:

"There's you've all been called here; last night, I received a prophecy about an upcoming battle that is bound to happen sooner than we expected. And for this reason, we're going to have to train for battle; if not, we'll die. Now I will warn all of you that death is very much certain in this battle, but if it's a risk that's certain, it's a risk we're gonna have to take unfortunately."

She went on to discuss the procedures we would have to take as well as what we would have to do to prepare for battle.

Now, friend, this is only the first stage of preparation and only the beginning.
