The New Light of Hope: Books I to VI.

Chapter XXIII: A Leader's Own Pain.

Commander Aurora:

Date: July 23, 2020.

That day, we --as well as with DawnHeart, CrystalHeart, CreamFur, AntlerClaw, StoneFoot, StormShadow, and BirchTail.-- were making plans on what to do if one of us were to experience early signs of corruption relating to our powers, and we had good ideas on what to do and when to do it or when we should do it at what given time. Everything was going well for the most part until I began feeling a little bit funny later on; I felt slightly dizzy, my stomach felt weird, my saliva began to build up inside of my mouth, and I overall felt nausious to the point where it felt like I was going to throw up. "Aurora, are you okay?" Amethyst asked me. But all I could do in was say: "I need to head outside for a moment, I feel like I'm gonna throw up."

Then I left the room, ran outside to the side of the base and, as expected, I threw up. But when I did throw up, I saw that the emesis was completely black and there were even orange and bits inside of it as well. I was in shock by what I saw right in front of my own eyes and I knew that I had to tell the rest of the group about it and so I ran back inside and ran back into the board room and said: "Hey, guys, there's something that you might wanna see."

Summer: "If it's your vomit, then no thank you."

Commander Aurora: "Well about that..."

Summer: "Oh God."

Commander Aurora: "This is serious, Summer! Why else would I run back into the base to tell you guys there was a problem?"

Bellatrix: "Yeah, Summer and besides, this may have to do with the corruption situation that's currently going on right now."

CrystalHeart: "Well if that is the case, then we should see what is going on to know what is happening right now."

And without any further arguments, I led all of them outside of showed them the area where I threw up and even they were shock to see that the emesis was black and the red and orange particals inside of it and Summer went on to ask me: "Umm, kid, were you feeling nauscious at any point this morning when you were getting ready or when we were heading to the forest or while you were carrying out your duties in the Forest Spirits Division?"

Commander Aurora: "Why, no, this happened just now during the board meeting. Never did I feel sick in any way when I was getting ready this morning, when we were heading to the forest, or while I was carrying out my duties in the Forest Spirits Division throughout the day today. And if I were to feel any sort of pain during our trip to the forest, then everyone would know what would happen at that very moment and we would have to stop what we were doing."

Milly: "That is true."

Summer: "Are you sure it's not food poisoning?"

Commander Aurora: "No Summer! Why would that be the case? It'd take twenty-four to around seventy-two hours for food poisoning to kick in like that. Plus, I'd never eat anything that would be contaminated."

CreamFur: "All right, everyone just calm down. Arguing over what could've caused this is just rediculous when you should know by now what's really causing al of this just by the color of the vomit and the particals inside and its colors as well."

Summer: "*Sigh* You're right, CreamFur and so are you, 'Rora."

Amethyst: "Speaking of which, Aurora, I think you should go and drink some water, Lord knows that the nasty after taste may still be lingering in your mouth and if you were to throw up again, you may want to have some water on hand with you if it were to happen once again because for one thing, you're going to need to drink some water to get it out of your system and to also get the same nasty taste out of your mouth."

Commander Aurora: "You would be right about that, Amethyst and I am going to go and do that right now."

Bellatrix: "I'll come with you to help you out."

Commander Aurora: "Thank you, Bellatrix."

DuskFire:

As Commander Aurora and Bellatrix went back inside of the base, Amethyst turned to face all of us and said: "We may need to keep close taps on Aurora as the day goes by as well as the night because there may be a good chance that she might throw up again but of course, we never knowwhat's going to happen as the days and the nights goes by."

DuskFire: "Couldn't agree more with you there, Amethyst. And we'll be sure to keep our eyes on Commander Aurora every now and then as the day and night goes by."

Summer: "Yeah and I think that it would be best if we checked around her body to see if there is anything out of the ordinary on it.Like what happened with me and Sadie."

Sadie: "I have to agree with Summer on this one because there is just no telling what's gonna pop up on the human body whenever it gets the chance to do so even without noticing it."

Amethyst: "Thank you for pointing that out, Summer. I will make sure to inform Bella about this as well when we go back inside right afterward. Which we should probably do that right now."

Milly: "Yeah, let's do that and we'll talk more about this tomorrow."

And so, we all went back inside right afterward.

Bellatrix:

As me and Amethyst examined Aurora up and down, I saw that no part of her body was covered by some sort of mysterious and unexplainible darkness caused by the Insolence whenever they had the chance to. "Well, it seems that the vomiting was the only sign of your corruption." I told Aurora. "And other than that, I don't really see anything else that is wrong with you at the moment, but for right now, take this ondansetron and hopefully will help you out if it were to possibly happen again."

Commander Aurora: "All right, I'll be sure to take these if I do throw up again. Thank you for your help, Bella and thank you for helping out as well, Amethyst."

Amethyst: "Anytime, 'Rora. Just lay down in the meantime and try not to move or run around a lot because that could make it even worse if it did happen again."

Commander Aurora: "All right; you know what to do from here."

Then she left the room. "Now I know that was the only way of us knowing that she was going through her own corruption and that I gave medication for her possible vomiting issue if it were to, of course, happen again at some point in time." I told Amethyst when she was fully out of sight. "But that does not mean that this sort of thing won't pop up again because there is a good possibility that it could happen again so we need to make sure we keep our eyes and ears peeled at all times as the months go by."

Amethyst: "And you would be right about that, Bellatrix because there ain't no telling what's going to pop up next but we will have to find out for ourselves whenever that faithful day ever does come around in the future."

Bellatrix: "You're right, Amethyst. We'll tell the rest of the group and keep this information in mind."

And so we left the room and told the rest of the group about this and that this corruption thing might pop up again in the near future if that were the case.

Something we would be right about when those days eventually came around and we would learn to face them head on without backing down.
