Chapter XVI: Troubling Reports.

Aurora:

"I suppose we all have news to share?" I asked with concern, sharing concerned looks with all of my friends that stood before me. "If we're all here, then, yes, we do have some rather troubling news." Jemma said. "Would anyone like to start?"

"I would." Milly responded. "In the Shade Hunters Division, one of the elders died, two fighters were killed by a conjoined patrol that was led by SunPelt, who is now on the Diablos side of things, and another fighter was killed by a rouge."

"In the Sun Chasers, a patrol of eleven had been organized, but only four came back, the other seven were killed by a conjoined Withered Souls and Insolence patrol." Jemma reported.

"In the Stream Echoes, MistHeart, an elder, had unfortunately died from a seizure and by the time GrayShine could get to her, it was already too late to even save her." Amethyst added.

"In the Night Runners, AspenFrost had been severely injured during a patrol." Summer added in.

"In the Forest Spirits, SilverHeart had a severe coughing fit but NightStone managed to help her out with it. But, I'm not sure if giving her herbs to help her will stop her from coughing." Bellatrix told everyone. "I just feel like something else is wrong with her other than just some simple coughing fit. I... I think she might be ill and we just don't know about it whatsoever."

Summer: "Something just doesn't add up, though."

Aurora: "Why's that?"

Summer: "With all that's been happening recently, it just doesn't make sense that all of this is taken place all at once."

Sadie: "Do you girls remember those paintings we saw in that cave a while ago? With all many brutal ways of animals dying?"

Abigail: "Vaguely."

Sadie: "What if all that's happening and what we saw is all leading up to something terrible?"

Jemma: "I remember Frost telling me and HollyStem something like this."

Summer: "Is it like one of those things that tries to tell you that you're halfway near Death's doorstep?"

Jemma: "If you put it that way, then yes, it's something like that. We're not out of the woods from danger just yet, this is only the beginning of something terrible."
