" Homicide , Lane," Faith snapped as she swallowed three aspirin dry and propped the squad room phone up against her shoulder.
The voice she heard on the other end of the phone line made her speechless and her mouth dried. Her heart began to beat so fast. It couldn't be..... It couldn't be.....
" Faith," she heard Pamela cry out on the phone. " Faith , you killed me. You killed me. "
No.....
Pamela.....
It could not be true! Pamela was not alive. The woman was dead. She had seen her body that night in the ER at St. Paul's. She went to her funeral.
" Who is this! ," she yelled as Nita's head lifted from the computer screen she was looking intensely at. " Who the hell is this ! "
" You killed me. You need to pay. "
Then the person who sounded like Pamela hung up. Leaving a devastated Faith holding the phone in shock.
" Lane, what's wrong? ," Nita demanded.
Faith shook her head at her as she hung up the phone. " Nothing. Just a prank call. "
