Lizavet stared at Indy. "It has to happen! We need all seven swords to defeat them!"

"What happened when you fell, Lizavet?" Indy asked softly.

"I used my shaman travel skills and fell into the kingdom throne room of the apkallu. The Treasure Guardian rescued me. He left me here to wait for you and my family," Lizavet explained.

"Where is he now?" Edo apkallu sneered. "If humans were the treasure - he isn't guarding you well! Or perhaps there's someone more powerful that he is choosing to be with?"

Lizavet swallowed.

"Will he not save you?" Edo apkallu leered, taking her chin. "I have plans for you. Plans to prosper - not to harm you - a hope and a future - if you will -"

Lizavet jerked her chin out of the monster's six fingered grasp, standing furiously on their altar. Her bound hands were shaking as she screamed in his face. "I refuse a tyrant! You have tormented me for decades! Kill me now! You'll never get the sword because no one returns from the unseen realm! NO ONE!"

"You wish to die?" Edo apkallu laughed. "Very well - fall on our altar, little Lizavet. Your blood will empower us." He lifted the sword, preparing to slice her throat and allow the blood to drench their altar.

"NO!" Shorty yelled through his gag.

"NO!" Emily ordered, trying to step forward.

Indy recognized this moment as what he'd foreseen in the mirror.

"Good-bye, Marion," he murmured, lunging forward, jumping between Edo apkallu and Lizavet. His uninjured arm, shoved Lizavet from the altar - but he couldn't defend himself -

Lizavet crashed to the ground and rolled away from the apkallu.

Emily screamed for her father, trying to charge the apkallu.

Edo laughed.

Shorty wailed in horror and rage, struggling to fight.

Lizavet sat up and looked at Edo, fury in her dark eyes. "You have no idea what you've done. My adopted father, Indiana Jones is also a Treasure Guardian. He'll return with the swords... and you will die like the mere mortals you despise."
