" I woke up in the middle of the night and I noticed my girl wasn't by my side"
Santiago woke up in the middle of the night to find the other side of the bed empty. He reached out, feeling the cool sheets where Isa had been. Concerned, he quietly got up and walked through the darkened house, looking for her.
He found her in the kitchen, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight. She was sitting at the kitchen island, staring out the window, deep in thought. The sight made his heart ache; he hated seeing her troubled.
"¿No puedes dormir?" he asked softly from the doorway.
Isa turned, surprised but not startled. "No, no puedo. Solo estaba pensando."
He walked over and wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "¿En qué estás pensando?"
Isa leaned into his embrace, and he felt a pang of guilt. He wished he could take away whatever was bothering her. "En muchas cosas. En nosotros, en mis amigos... en todo."
Santi kissed her temple gently. He wanted to reassure her, to make her feel safe. "Lo que sea que esté pasando por tu mente, lo enfrentaremos juntos. ¿De acuerdo?"
She nodded, and he felt a bit of the tension leave her body. "De acuerdo."
They stood there for a while, wrapped in each other's arms. Santi looked at her reflection in the window, seeing the mix of emotions in her eyes. He wished he knew exactly what was going on in her head, but he knew better than to push. Instead, he focused on being there for her.
Finally, they decided to head back to bed. As they walked, he held her hand tightly, silently vowing to support her no matter what. Once they were back under the covers, he pulled her close, determined to be her anchor through whatever was troubling her.
Before drifting back to sleep, he whispered, "Te amo, Isa."
"Yo más, Santi," she replied softly, her voice carrying the weight of her thoughts but also the comfort of their shared love.
He held her tighter, hoping his presence would give her some peace, and soon they both drifted off, finding solace in each other's arms.
____The next morning, Santiago woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside the window. He blinked his eyes open, adjusting to the sunlight streaming in. Isa was still asleep, her face peaceful and serene. He smiled, watching her for a moment before carefully getting out of bed, trying not to wake her.
He went to the kitchen, where he found Edson already making breakfast. The smell of coffee and frying eggs filled the air. Santiago joined in, helping his friend with the preparations.
"Buenos días," Santiago greeted, yawning slightly.
"Buenos días, hermano," Edson replied, glancing at him with a smirk. "¿Cómo dormiste?"
"Bien, aunque Isa se veía preocupada anoche. Quiero hablar con ella al respecto."
Edson nodded, understanding the concern. "Seguro. Después de desayunar, podemos hablar un poco antes de irnos a entrenar."
As they finished setting the table, Isa walked in, looking a bit more rested but still carrying a hint of the previous night's worry in her eyes.
"Buenos días," she greeted, giving both of them a quick hug. "Huele delicioso."
"Espero que te guste. Desayuno sencillo, pero hecho con amor," Santiago said, pulling out a chair for her.
"Gracias, chicos," she said, sitting down. They all started eating in comfortable silence, enjoying the meal together.
After a few moments, Santi decided to gently bring up what was on his mind. "Isa, sobre anoche... sé que algo te preocupa. Quiero que sepas que puedes hablar conmigo de lo que sea."
Isa looked up from her plate, her eyes meeting his. She sighed softly, gathering her thoughts. "Gracias, Santi. Es solo que... a veces las cosas se acumulan y es difícil procesarlas."
"Entiendo. No tienes que cargar con todo sola. Estoy aquí para ti, siempre," he assured her, reaching across the table to take her hand.
She squeezed his hand, appreciating his support. "Lo sé. Gracias por eso."
They finished breakfast, the weight of their conversation lingering but not overshadowing the comfort of their shared moments. Santiago and Edson helped her clean up, and they spent the rest of the morning together, enjoying each other's company.
Later in the day, it was time for Santiago and Edson to leave for their training session. Santi gave Isa a lingering kiss before heading out. "Nos vemos más tarde. Cuídate."
"Tú también," she replied, watching them go with a mix of love and concern.
As Isa went about her day, she couldn't help but think about the previous night's events and Gerardo's unexpected like on her post. She decided to try and focus on the present, reminding herself of Santiago's words and the support of her friends.
Meanwhile, Santiago couldn't shake off the feeling that something deeper was going on with Isa. He was determined to be there for her, no matter what it took. He knew their love was strong, and together, they could face anything.
