Chapter 42

It was now Saturday afternoon, and Isa was sitting at the kitchen table, coloring in her coloring book. She found it relaxing and enjoyed adding vibrant colors to the pages.

"¿Qué haces, Isa?" Edson asked, coming out of his room and stretching.

"Estoy coloreando. ¿Quieres unirte?" she asked, looking up at him with a smile.

"Claro," Edson replied, grabbing a chair and sitting next to her. Isa handed him another one of her coloring books, and he opened it to a random page.

"Mira, eres tú y Santi," Edson said, wiggling his eyebrows at her while showing her the image of two little bears kissing at the lake.

Isa blushed and laughed. "¡Ay, Edson! Eres un tonto."

"Pero admítelo, tienen algo especial," Edson teased, picking up a colored pencil and starting to color the page.

Isa smiled softly, thinking about Santiago. "Sí, lo sé. Pero vamos paso a paso."

Edson nodded, focusing on his coloring. "Está bien, Isa. Solo quiero verte feliz."

Isa leaned over and gave her brother a quick hug. "Gracias, Ed. Eres el mejor."

Isa's phone dinged, and she checked the screen to see a message from Kevin. "Que onda, perdida," she read.

"Hola Kevin," she replied.

"¿Están ocupados?" he asked.

"Estamos coloreando, ¿por qué?" she wrote back.

"¿Quieren salir? Vamos Romo, Chávez, Arteaga, Diego, Sebastián, y yo."

"Déjame le pregunto a Ed," Isa responded. After asking Edson, she typed, "Dijo que sí. ¿A dónde iremos?"

"Iremos a comer y después a la plaza, ¿les parece?"

"Sí, claro. Mándame la dirección y ahí quedamos," she said.

"Isa, estamos afuera," Kevin texted.

Isa told Edson to let the guys come in while she got ready. They entered and greeted Edson, chatting as they waited for Isa to finish. She came walking down the stairs wearing jean shorts and a white top.

"Que guapa," Kevin said, smiling at her.

"Te ves increíble," said Romo.

"Siempre tan bonita, Isa," added Chávez.

"Estás espectacular," said Arteaga.

Isa blushed and smiled at all the compliments. They walked out and squeezed into Kevin's car, making it work despite the tight fit. The atmosphere was lively and filled with anticipation for the day ahead.

As they were still in the car, Chavez was complaining. "¿Por qué Isa puede ir de copiloto y yo no?" he said.

"Porque Isa es mi favo—" Kevin started but got cut off by Edson.

"Porque Isa es la única chica y obviamente no la iba a dejar sentarse en sus piernas," Edson told the guys while making an obvious face.

"No estaría tan mal, eh," Arteaga teased. Edson looked at him in the eyes and Arteaga shut up.

Kevin handed Isa a bag of gummy bears. "Eso no es justo, yo también quiero," Luis Romo said.

"¿Nos das poquitas, Isa?" they all asked her.

"No!" Kevin said quickly.

"No seas malo, Kevin," Arteaga said.

"No les des, Isa," Edson said.
