Kevin's heart was still pounding as he watched Isa walk towards her front door. The way she turned back and flashed him that smile before disappearing inside made his pulse quicken. He hadn't expected to feel this way, and it unsettled him.
As she waved and said, "Nos vemos mañana," he nodded, trying to act casual, but his mind was far from calm. "Sí, quieres que pase por ti?" he asked, his voice betraying a hint of the nervousness bubbling under the surface.
"Claro, me encantaría," Isa replied, her eyes sparkling as she smiled.
Kevin managed a smile in return, but as soon as she closed the door behind her, he let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. He leaned back in his seat, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he tried to process what had just happened.
He started the car, but he didn't drive away immediately. Instead, he sat there for a moment, replaying the events of the evening in his mind. The way she laughed when he teased her, the way she leaned into his side as they watched the sunset together, and the way his heart had skipped a beat when he kissed her cheek.
When had things changed between them? He couldn't pinpoint the exact moment, but suddenly, everything felt different. Isa had always been his friend—someone he could joke around with, someone he could talk to. But now, every time he looked at her, he felt this strange, unfamiliar pull.
As he finally pulled away from her house, he couldn't help but think about the moment just before she got out of the car. She had caught him staring at her lips, and the way she had laughed it off with that playful "Una foto dura más" made his stomach flip. It was such a simple, teasing comment, but it made him realize just how much he had started to notice her in ways he hadn't before.
"Perdón, Isa," he had said, trying to laugh it off, but the truth was, he wasn't sorry at all. He wanted to look at her like that, to soak in every detail of her face, every expression, every smile.
"No pasa nada," she had replied, pulling him into a hug that felt different from all the other hugs they had shared before. It was warmer, closer—like she could feel the shift between them too.
As he drove home, Kevin couldn't stop thinking about her. He replayed their conversation, the way she had opened up to him about Santiago and how he had been there to comfort her. The thought of her being with someone else—especially someone like Santiago—made his chest tighten with a mix of jealousy and protectiveness. He wanted to be the one she turned to, the one who made her laugh, the one who made her feel special.
He knew he was starting to see Isa differently, and the realization both thrilled and terrified him. What if she didn't feel the same way? What if he ruined their friendship by admitting how he felt? But as he thought about the way she had looked at him tonight, the way she had blushed at his flirty comments, he couldn't help but hope that maybe—just maybe—she was starting to feel the same way too.
By the time he reached his house, Kevin's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. He parked the car and just sat there, staring out into the night. He knew he had to figure out his feelings, to understand what this all meant. But one thing was clear: Isa wasn't just a friend to him anymore. She was becoming something much more, and that scared him as much as it excited him.
As he finally made his way inside, Kevin knew that tomorrow, when he saw Isa again, he would have to confront these feelings head-on. He couldn't keep pretending that nothing had changed. Because everything had. And as much as he didn't want to risk their friendship, he couldn't ignore the growing realization that Isa might just be the person he had been waiting for all along. (Sorry if this didn't make much sense, I was excited about it😭) ____
Kevin stayed up all night, his mind racing with thoughts of Isa. Every time an image of her smiling or laughing came to mind, he couldn't help but let out a deep sigh. Her voice, the way she had playfully teased him earlier, and the warmth of her hug—it all echoed in his head, bringing an involuntary smile to his lips.
He turned over in his bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling a confusing mix of emotions. On one hand, he was terrified—terrified of ruining their friendship, of being rejected, of making things awkward between them. What if he was just imagining things? What if she didn't feel the same way? What if, in his attempt to be more than a friend, he lost her completely?
But then, on the other hand, there was this undeniable happiness, a kind of joy he hadn't felt in a long time. Just thinking about her made his heart race in a way that was both exhilarating and frightening. He remembered the way she blushed when he teased her, the way she laughed at his jokes, and how comfortable it felt to be around her. It was a kind of happiness that felt right, even if it scared him.
He tossed and turned, unable to settle his mind. Kevin knew that things were changing between them, and while he was scared of what that might mean, he couldn't deny that he was also excited. For the first time in a long time, he found himself looking forward to what tomorrow might bring, even if it came with risks. But as the night wore on, one thing became clear: Isa was becoming more than just a friend to him, and that thought filled him with both fear and hope. ____
Isa realized she hadn't wished Kevin a good night, so she quickly grabbed her phone and sent him a text.
Se me olvidó decirte que duermas bien, guapo. Y no te preocupes tanto, estaré bien. Nos vemos mañana.
Kevin was still lost in his thoughts when his phone buzzed, interrupting him. Seeing "Ojitos Verdes💞" pop up on his screen made his heart skip a beat. He opened the message, and a smile spread across his face, wider than before.
He quickly typed a reply:
Gracias, Isa. Tú también descansa, sueña conmigo 😉. Nos vemos mañana, hermosa.
With that, Kevin finally felt some peace. He set his phone down, his mind now filled with thoughts of Isa. Even though he was scared of the growing feelings, the warmth in his chest made him happy. He closed his eyes, her laughter still echoing in his mind, and drifted off to sleep.
Hiii everyone, I'm speechless. I'm so down bad for Kevin. Sorry for the repetition of words and phrases. I want him to stare at me the way he looks at Igor. (The way he saw Isa in these chaps) Luv y'all lots💗
