The day was beautiful, and Isa had a fantastic time with Kevin. They went to the movie theater, where they watched a new release that had them both laughing and talking excitedly afterward. Kevin then spoiled her with an unlimited shopping spree. Although Isa was hesitant to spend his money, she finally allowed herself to enjoy it, getting a few things while Kevin insisted on buying matching items like hoodies, bracelets, chains, and more.
Kevin loved seeing his best friend happy, not like the way Santiago had left her. They laughed, joked, and enjoyed each other's company, momentarily forgetting the pain that had weighed Isa down. As the sun began to set, Kevin drove Isa back to her house.
Edson greeted them at the door, and after Kevin said his goodbyes, he drove off, leaving Isa with her brother. Edson's eyes were filled with concern as he asked Isa about her day and what had happened at the party.
With great difficulty, Isa told him about Santiago and Anastasia, her words barely audible. Edson felt his heart sink for his sister while anger boiled inside him toward Santiago. He wanted to do something about it.
"Isa, ¿por qué no me llamaste? Hubiera estado ahí para ti," Edson said, his voice trembling with a mix of guilt and rage.
Isa shook her head, tears forming in her eyes again. "No quería preocuparme más, Ed. Kevin estaba ahí... él me ayudó mucho."
Edson pulled her into a tight hug, his anger still simmering beneath the surface. "Voy a hablar con Santiago. No puede tratarte así."
"Edson, por favor... no quiero más problemas," Isa pleaded, her voice breaking.
Edson sighed, his protective instincts battling with his desire to respect his sister's wishes. "Está bien, Isa. Pero si necesitas algo, lo que sea, estoy aquí."
Isa nodded, appreciating her brother's support. "Gracias, Edson. De verdad."
The two siblings sat down, and Edson did his best to lighten the mood, telling her about his day and making her laugh. Despite the heartbreak she felt, Isa knew she was lucky to have a brother like Edson and a friend like Kevin. They were her rocks, and for now, that was enough.
____Isa decided to take a nap on the couch while Edson played FIFA, hoping a bit of rest would help clear her mind. She curled up under a blanket, the hum of the game and Edson's occasional exclamations providing a comforting background noise.
As soon as she closed her eyes, however, the horrible scene from the night before replayed in her mind. She dreamt of Santiago and Anastasia on the couch, their faces close, Anastasia's smirk, and the kiss that shattered her heart. The vividness of the dream made her feel as if she was reliving it all over again, the pain as fresh as it had been the first time she saw it.
In her dream, she tried to call out to Santiago, to ask him why he was doing this, but her voice wouldn't come. She watched helplessly as Anastasia and Santiago cuddled, his face showing a happiness that she had always wished to see directed at her. The betrayal cut deep, and the tears she had tried so hard to hold back in real life began to fall freely in her dream.
The dream shifted, and now she was standing outside Kevin's house, watching herself crying in his arms. She could see the pain on her own face and Kevin's, the heartbreak reflected in his eyes as he tried to console her. It was a surreal and painful experience, seeing herself from an outside perspective, feeling the weight of her sorrow.
Suddenly, Isa jerked awake, her heart pounding and her face wet with tears. She sat up, disoriented, and looked around. Edson was still engrossed in his game, unaware of her turmoil. She wiped her face with the back of her hand and took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
