Today, the team enjoyed a well-deserved free day following their victory against Germany, with their next match not scheduled for another two weeks. Memo took the initiative to organize a small gathering at his house and invited everyone via the group chat. Edson promptly informed Isa about the plans, and she agreed to join.
As the afternoon rolled around, the siblings began to prepare for the outing. They hopped into the car and made their way to Memo's house. "Por fin llegan, son los últimos," greeted Sebastián as he opened the door.
"Hola, Isa, ¿cómo estás?" he asked, planting a kiss on her cheek. Isa returned the gesture and replied that she was doing well. They entered the house and headed to the backyard where the rest of the group was gathered.
Santiago was seated at a table with Anastasia, who couldn't help but shoot Isa a disdainful look. Unfazed, Isa paid her no mind, knowing that engaging with Anastasia was futile.
Edson instructed Isa to take a seat at a table while he joined Memo in cooking the carne asada. Isa complied, and soon Kevin approached, taking a seat next to her.
"Hola, Isa, ¿cómo estás?" greeted Kevin.
"Bien, Kevin, ¿y tú?" replied Isa.
"Hey, Isa, let me tell you about the time Edson thought he could outsmart the coach during training," Kevin chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Isa leaned in, intrigued. "¿En serio? Tell me more," she replied, eager to hear the story.
Kevin nodded, launching into his tale. "So, we were doing drills, right? And Edson, being his usual competitive self, decides to try and show off. He starts pulling all these fancy moves, thinking he's impressing the coach."
Isa couldn't help but laugh, picturing Edson's determined expression. "¿Y qué pasó entonces?" she asked, curious to hear the outcome.
"Well, let's just say it didn't go exactly as planned," Kevin continued, a smirk playing on his lips. "The coach saw right through his antics and called him out on it. Edson was so embarrassed, he turned as red as a tomato!"
Isa burst into laughter, imagining Edson's reaction. "¡Qué gracioso! Sounds like something he would do," she exclaimed, enjoying the camaraderie with her teammate.
Kevin was enjoying his time with Isa and didn't want to stop hearing her laugh so he kept going on talking about Edson and how clumsy he was.
"Isa, have I ever told you about the time Edson tried to impress a group of fans by attempting a bicycle kick?" Kevin began, barely able to contain his laughter.
Isa's eyes widened with anticipation. "Oh, this I've got to hear," she replied, already anticipating the hilarity that would ensue.
"So, we were at this charity event, right? And there were these fans cheering for us," Kevin continued, barely able to keep a straight face. "And Edson, being Edson, decides he's going to show off a bit."
Isa couldn't help but chuckle, knowing that Edson's attempts at showing off usually ended in some sort of comedic mishap. "And then what happened?" she asked, eager for the punchline.
"Well, let's just say it didn't exactly go according to plan," Kevin replied, his laughter bubbling over. "Edson goes for the bicycle kick, but instead of hitting the ball, he ends up completely missing and falling flat on his back in front of everyone!"
Isa burst into laughter, imagining the scene in her mind. Before she could even respond, Edson approached them with a mock stern expression.
"No mames Kevin, lo que pasa en el equipo se queda en el equipo," he said, trying to sound serious but failing as a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
