Isa woke up from her sleep and checked the time. It was now 10:00 AM. A nurse walked in with a tray of food and greeted Isa warmly.

"Buenos días, Isabella. ¿Cómo te sientes hoy?" the nurse asked as she set the tray down on the small table next to the bed.

"Buenos días. Me siento un poco mejor, gracias," Isa replied, offering a small smile.

The nurse proceeded to check Isa's blood pressure and other vital signs, noting everything down on her chart. "Todo parece estar en orden. Asegúrate de comer algo y descansar mucho," she advised before leaving the room.

Isa thanked her and looked down at the tray of food. It felt strange to be on the receiving end of care, being a nurse herself. She had spent so much time looking after others, and now she was the one being looked after. It was a humbling experience.

She knew Edson would be finishing up practice soon, so she wanted to freshen up a bit. She brushed her hair, trying to smooth out the tangles, and applied some lip balm to her lips. Despite everything, she wanted to look presentable when Edson arrived.

As she waited, she thought about the events of the past few days. The confrontation with Santiago, the way Edson and Kevin had taken care of her, and the overwhelming emotions she had been dealing with. She hoped that today would bring some clarity and perhaps a step towards healing.

____

Isa ate her food as she watched TV, trying to distract herself. Suddenly, an image of Anastasia and Santiago appeared on the screen, accompanied by the headline, "¿Volvió la pareja inquebrantable?"

Her heart sank. She had always kept her relationship with Santiago private, going undercover every time they went out. She didn't want to be known as Edson's sister or Santiago's girlfriend. Instead, she wanted to be recognized as "Dr. Isabella Alvarez," a title she had worked tirelessly to earn. She had built her career brick by brick, determined to shine on her own merits.

Seeing the article and the picture of Santiago and Anastasia together hurt more than she expected. It wasn't just the betrayal but also the public nature of it. All her efforts to keep her personal life private felt undermined by this single post. She had managed to distinguish herself in her profession, but her private life, particularly her relationship with Santiago, seemed to be spiraling out of her control.

Isa turned off the TV, unable to watch any more. She sat quietly, lost in her thoughts, wondering how things had gone so wrong. She had loved Santiago deeply, but now she questioned everything about their relationship. Did he ever truly respect her desire for privacy? Did he ever understand her need to be recognized for her own achievements?

She sighed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on her. All she wanted was to be seen and respected for who she truly was, not just as an extension of the men in her life.
____

She heard the door open and the nurse walked in. "Señorita Isabella, tiene visita," she said, moving aside to reveal a blonde woman who quickly entered the room.

"Isa!" the woman exclaimed, rushing to hug her.

"Agus, que gusto verte," Isa responded, embracing her friend.

The nurse left to give them privacy.

"Me enteré de lo de Santi. Isa, no dejes que eso te arruine la vida. Siempre anhelé que fueras mi cuñada oficialmente, pero ahora no creo que se pueda. Santi es un pendejo, no entiende. Te juro que, aunque un hombre nos intente separar, yo siempre estaré ahí para ti. Nunca dudes en llamarme para pedirme algo," Agustina, Santiago's sister, said, holding Isa tightly.

Isa, containing her tears, replied, "Muchas gracias, Agus. Esto ha sido muy difícil para mí. Ha pasado demasiado y no creo que pueda con todo."

"Se que puedes. Puedes con esto y más, Isa," Agus reassured her.

"Gracias, Agus," Isa replied, feeling a glimmer of hope.

Through these ten months, Isa had built a great relationship with Agus. She was like the sister she never had. Every time Santiago argued with Isa over the phone, Agus would take Santiago's phone and reassure Isa. She would make sure Santiago always apologized for his stupid mistakes and fights. Agus didn't want to lose Isa. Whatever she could do, she would do, even if it meant breaking her relationship with Santiago as siblings.

"Recuerda, Isa, tú eres fuerte. No dejes que nadie te haga sentir menos. Te quiero mucho," Agus said, squeezing Isa's hand.

"Yo también te quiero, Agus," Isa replied, feeling a warmth in her heart that she hadn't felt in days. With friends like Agus, she knew she could get through this.
____

They stayed talking for a while, planning to go out when Isa got out of the hospital. They discussed various places they could visit and things they could do to take Isa's mind off everything that had happened.

"Vamos a ir a ese café nuevo que te gusta," Agus suggested. "Y después podemos ir de compras o al cine, lo que tú prefieras."

"Me encantaría," Isa replied, smiling.

Eventually, Agus had to leave. They hugged each other tightly.

"Cuídate mucho, Isa. Te veo pronto," Agus said, giving Isa one last reassuring smile before heading to the door.

"Gracias por venir, Agus. Nos vemos pronto," Isa replied, waving as Agustina left the room.

Isa felt a spark of hope with the words Agus had shared with her. She knew that with friends like Agus, she could find the strength to move forward.
