As the players began to make their way onto the field, smiles spread across their faces when they saw Isa sitting next to Diego. There was an immediate shift in the atmosphere as they noticed her presence, and their earlier worry was replaced with relief.
"¡Isa, qué bueno verte!" Sebastián called out with a grin, waving enthusiastically.
"¡Nos tenías preocupados, niña!" Luis Romo added, giving her a thumbs up.
"¡Bienvenida de vuelta, Isa!" Arteaga yelled, his voice carrying across the field as he waved at her.
Isa felt warmth fill her chest as she waved back at them, a wide smile spreading across her face. It felt good to be surrounded by her friends, even if things still felt a little off-kilter.
Diego gave her a quick nod before heading off to join the rest of the team, leaving Isa to sit alone on the sidelines. Her eyes scanned the field, and they eventually met Santiago's. The moment their gazes locked, Santiago quickly looked away, a flash of something unreadable passing over his face. Isa averted her eyes too, not wanting to dwell on the awkwardness between them.
Her attention then shifted to Kevin, who was staring at her while Uriel said something to him. When Kevin noticed her looking, he waved, a smile spreading across his face. Isa waved back, feeling a flutter in her stomach as she did. Uriel caught the exchange and waved at her too, making her smile again.
Isa's gaze drifted toward Edson, watching as he skillfully navigated through drills. It was clear he had been working hard, and a swell of pride filled her chest at how much he had improved.
"Isa," a voice suddenly called out beside her.
"Mande?" she replied, turning to see Jimmy standing there.
"¿Podrías traerme unos papeles que están en mi oficina?" he asked, giving her a kind smile.
"Sí, claro," Isa responded, getting to her feet. She made her way inside the facility, the familiar scent of coffee filling her nostrils. It brought back memories of quiet mornings spent with the team, sipping coffee and chatting about the day ahead. A small smile tugged at her lips as she headed to Jimmy's office.
She quickly found the papers he needed and was about to head back to the field when she heard someone whisper her name. Turning around, Isa's eyes widened in surprise when she saw who it was.
"Isabella, veo que todavía sigues aquí," Anastasia said, rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms.
Isa sighed and tried to ignore her, walking toward the exit. But Anastasia wasn't having it. She hurried after Isa, her tone growing increasingly irritated. "Isabella, estoy hablando, ¿me escuchas?"
Isa let out another sigh, rolling her eyes as she continued walking. When she reached Jimmy, she handed him the papers with a smile. "Aquí tienes, Jimmy."
"Gracias, Isa," Jimmy said gratefully. Then his eyes shifted to Anastasia, who had just caught up. "Anastasia, ¿qué haces aquí?" he asked, clearly surprised by her presence.
"Santi me invitó," she replied, a smug smile on her face.
Jimmy nodded, glancing back at Isa, who simply shrugged, not wanting to engage any further.
Out on the field, Kevin noticed the blue-haired girl trailing behind Isa and did a double-take. He realized with a start that it was Anastasia, and the situation amused him. He chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he watched Isa effortlessly ignore her. The sight made him smile even more, appreciating the way Isa handled the situation.
Some of Kevin's teammates had also spotted Anastasia and were visibly taken aback by her presence. They exchanged curious glances and muttered amongst themselves.
