Isabella tagged along with Edson to his training session. When the coach kindly asked her if she could bring the towels from the locker room, she agreed without hesitation. As she made her way there, she couldn't help but overhear some giggling and strange noises. Deciding to mind her own business, she entered the locker room. However, what she stumbled upon left her jaw hanging.
Santiago and a girl, whom she assumed to be his girlfriend, were in a compromising position. The girl was sitting on his lap, cheeks flushed red. Shocked, Isabella quickly grabbed the towels and hurried out, trying to erase the image from her mind.
But as she stepped out, Santiago and his companion intercepted her. "No vayas a decir nada," Santiago said, his tone pleading. The girl with blue hair flipped Isabella off before rushing to her boyfriend.
Isabella handed the towels to the coach, who thanked her warmly. Taking a seat in the player area, she tried to compose herself. Sebastian, sitting beside her, noticed her troubled expression. "¿Qué te pasa? You look like you've seen a ghost," he remarked, concern evident in his voice.
Sebastian's question jolted Isabella back to reality. She forced a smile, trying to play it off. "Oh, nothing, just a little tired," she replied, her voice wavering slightly. But Sebastian wasn't convinced. He studied her for a moment before gently pressing further, "Are you sure? You seem a bit off." Isabella hesitated, debating whether to confide in him about what she had witnessed. But ultimately, she shook her head and gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "It's really nothing, just some drama in the locker room. Don't worry about it," she assured him, hoping he would drop the subject.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced by Isabella's attempt to brush off the situation. "Drama in the locker room? ¿Qué pasó?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued. Isabella shifted uncomfortably in her seat, feeling the weight of the secret she was carrying. "Oh, you know, just some personal stuff between some of the players," she replied vaguely, hoping Sebastian wouldn't push further. But Sebastian wasn't one to let things go easily. "Well, if you ever need to talk about it, I'm here," he offered, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. Isabella managed a grateful smile, silently thanking him for his kindness. Deep down, she knew she couldn't keep Santiago's secret forever, but for now, she was content to have a friend by her side.
As the training session concluded, Isabella felt a knot of tension tighten in her stomach. She hurried towards the exit, hoping to avoid any further confrontation. But Santiago intercepted her, his usual disdain evident in his voice.
"Don't even think about opening your mouth, Isa," he snapped, his tone laced with hostility. Isabella braced herself, steeling her resolve against his harsh words.
Sebastian, sensing the tension, stepped in, his expression concerned. "What's going on?" he asked, shooting Santiago a wary glance. Isabella glanced at Santiago, then back at Sebastian, weighing her options.
With a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and met Santiago's gaze head-on. "Sorry, but I can't keep your dirty little secret any longer," she retorted, her voice firm despite the tremor of fear coursing through her.
Santiago's face twisted in anger, but Isabella stood her ground, refusing to back down. Turning to Sebastian, she offered him a weak smile. "Thanks for having my back," she murmured, grateful for his unwavering support.
As she walked away, leaving Santiago to stew in his own fury, Isabella felt a sense of liberation wash over her. She knew she had done the right thing, no matter how much it might cost her in the end.
She waited for Edson to catch up to her. On their way towards the parking lot, Edson noticed the tension lingering around Isabella. He glanced at her, concern etched into his features. Sensing something amiss, he decided to broach the subject once they were in the privacy of the car.
As they settled into their seats, Edson cleared his throat, casting a sideways glance at Isabella. "Isa, everything alright?" he asked, his voice gentle yet probing. Isabella hesitated, unsure whether to confide in him about the events that had transpired.
"It's nothing, Edson, just a rough day," she replied vaguely, offering him a small smile in an attempt to reassure him. But Edson wasn't easily deterred. He knew Isabella well enough to recognize when something was bothering her.
"Come on, Isa. You can tell me anything," Edson pressed, his concern deepening. Isabella sighed, realizing she couldn't keep it bottled up any longer.
"It's just... something happened at training," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. Edson's brow furrowed in concern as he listened intently to Isabella's recounting of the locker room encounter.
As she finished, Edson reached out, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, Isa. But I'm proud of you for doing the right thing," he said sincerely. Isabella nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her at Edson's understanding.
With Edson by her side, Isabella knew she didn't have to face the aftermath of the confrontation alone. And as they drove home, she found solace in the knowledge that she had friends who supported her, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
As they arrived home, Edson could sense Isabella's reluctance to talk further about the incident. However, he knew his sister well enough to know when something was weighing heavily on her mind.
"Isa, ¿qué pasó? You seem really upset," Edson said, his tone filled with concern as they entered their house.
Isabella hesitated, unsure whether to burden her brother with her troubles. But as she met his gaze, she knew she couldn't keep it to herself any longer.
"Edson, something happened at training today," she began, her voice faltering slightly.
Edson's brow furrowed in concern as he listened intently to Isabella's account of what had transpired in the locker room.
When she finished, Edson's expression darkened with anger. "¿Santiago te dijo eso? That's unacceptable," he exclaimed, his protective instincts kicking in.
Isabella reached out, placing a hand on her brother's arm. "Edson, por favor, don't do anything rash. This is my problem, and I need to handle it on my own," she pleaded, her voice tinged with desperation.
Edson paused, his anger slowly giving way to understanding. "Okay, Isa. I won't do anything without your permission. But remember, I'm here for you, siempre," he said reassuringly, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
As Isabella leaned into her brother's embrace, she felt a sense of relief wash over her. With Edson by her side, she knew she could face whatever challenges lay ahead, no matter how daunting they may seem.
