Isa was now at home, catching up on chores before her big day tomorrow. She tossed her dirty clothes into the washing machine and began tidying up the living room. She checked her email, filled out forms for her new job with the selección mexicana, and noted the details of her upcoming meeting. The meeting was set for the next day, where she would be photographed and officially introduced to the media, and given her new uniform. As she completed her tasks, she reflected on the whirlwind of changes in her life. The transition from the hospital to working with the national team was exciting but also daunting. She was eager to start this new chapter but felt a pang of uncertainty about leaving her previous job.

Around 9 p.m., Edson came home and found Isa sitting at the dining table, eating cereal.

"¿Cómo va todo, Isa?" Edson asked, his eyes scanning the room.

"Todo bien, aquí poniéndome al corriente con las cosas," Isa replied, trying to keep her excitement about her new job under wraps.

Edson settled down next to her, his mood upbeat.

Isa smiled, genuinely happy for him.

Edson's eyes sparkled with mischief.

Isa laughed nervously, feeling her cheeks flush. Her mind drifted back to Jorge's similar comments, making her blush even more.

Edson chuckled at her reaction.

Isa tried to steer the conversation away from her personal life. "Pues ya sabes, bien. Hablamos mucho y eso es todo. Como amigos, claro."

"Sí, claro," Edson said with a grin, clearly enjoying teasing her.

Isa nodded, grateful for his understanding and playful nature. As the evening continued, she appreciated the normalcy of their conversation and the comforting presence of her brother, even if he was unknowingly close to the truth of her recent experiences.

Isa and Edson decided to play a few rounds of UNO after dinner, something they hadn't done in a while. As the game progressed, it became clear they had lost count of how many cards were supposed to be stacked up.

"¡No, no, no! Eso no puede ser. ¡Eran seis cartas, no cuatro!" Edson argued, shaking his head.

Isa laughed, shaking her finger.

Isa rolled her eyes dramatically but smiled. ¡Toma tus cartas, tramposo!"

After a few more rounds of arguing and laughing, the clock hit 11 p.m., and they both decided it was time to call it a night.

"Buenas noches, Isa. Sueña con tu amorcito," Edson teased as he stood up.

"Ajá, sí, claro," Isa responded with an exaggerated eye roll. "Buenas noches, Ed. Sueña con tu noviecita," she teased back, waving him off playfully.

They each headed to their rooms. Isa lay on her bed, scrolling through TikTok to wind down. Just as her eyes began to close, she felt her phone buzz. It was a message from Piojo.
