Jaime had granted Edson permission to miss the day's training, and Edson was deeply grateful. As he sat by Isa's bedside, watching her sleep, he couldn't help but hope for her swift recovery. He noticed the heart rate monitor begin to beep more steadily, signaling that her condition was improving. Isa's eyes fluttered open, and she saw Edson's concerned face.

Edson immediately stood up and took her hand gently. "Isa, estás despierta. Me alegra tanto verte así," he said, his voice filled with relief.

Isa managed a sleepy smile, her eyes still heavy with exhaustion. "¿Dónde está Kevin?" she asked softly.

Isa nodded, her mind drifting to the events from the previous day. The hurtful words Santiago had spoken to her echoed in her thoughts. She couldn't shake the feeling of abandonment and betrayal, and the silence between her and Edson seemed to deepen as she grappled with the painful memories.

Edson, noticing the change in her expression, squeezed her hand gently.

Isa's gaze remained distant, reflecting on the emotional turmoil she had faced. "Gracias, Ed. Por estar aquí para mí."

Edson nodded, trying to offer her comfort. "Siempre, Isa. Siempre estaré aquí para ti."

As the room fell into a contemplative silence, Edson stayed close, waiting for Kevin to arrive and hoping that his presence would bring Isa some comfort and clarity.

As Isa lay in the hospital bed, she looked at Edson with a tired expression, her voice barely audible. "Edson... ¿Crees que soy difícil de querer?" The question caught Edson completely off guard, and his heart sank. He leaned closer, his hand tightening around hers.

"No, Isa, no digas eso," he said, his voice gentle but firm.

Isa shook her head slightly, her voice still soft. She paused, her eyes glazing over as if reliving the pain. "No pensé que él me haría tanto daño."

Edson's anger flared up, but he swallowed it down, refusing to let it cloud his judgment.

Isa nodded slightly, but her expression didn't change. She continued in that same flat, emotionless tone that made Edson's heart ache for her.

Edson squeezed her hand, searching for the right words.

Isa gave him a small, sad smile. "Gracias, Edson. No sé qué haría sin ti."

Edson shook his head. "Siempre estaré aquí para ti, Isa. Pase lo que pase."
