Vic

The next day I was sat at home bored out of my mind.

I picked up the magazine from the coffee table, that Sophie had bought the day before. I was flicking through it absent-mindedly when something caught me eye.

My heart stopped.

There spread across two pages were pictures of Ronan with his arm around some tall blonde girl. I threw the magazine on the table as if it had burned me.

How the hell could he do this to me?

I was so angry.

He knew I found it hard to trust after Dan.

How could he? How could he? I kept repeating those words to myself.

Ronan Keating or not, he wasn't going to get away with it, I wasn't going to be taken for a fool again.

Not this time.

I picked up my phone and dialled his number.

There was no answer, must have still been en-route.

Damn!

I tried again a few hours later.

"Hey babe!"

"I want to know who she is?" I said angrily, unable to control myself.

"Who?"

"That girl!!"

"What girl?"

"Don't play games with me Ronan, I'm not in the mood" I snapped.

"Vic babe, I really haven't a clue what you're talking about?"

"I'll spell it out to you then shall I?" I was livid now, how dare he lie to me?

"The blonde girl that you've got your arm around in heat magazine!" I shouted at him.

"Huh?" I had to admit he did sound surprised.

"I don't know what you're talking about, seriously. "Wait my sister reads that, I think she left a copy here the other day"

I could hear him rummaging around, he came back on the phone.

Was I mistaken or could I hear amusement in his voice.

"Oh Vic..."

"It's not funny!" I snapped.

"Who is she??"

"I'm sorry Vic" he gasped, he was actually laughing now. I nearly put the phone down on him.

"That's my cousin, Sinead" he said finally.

Uh oh. I felt bad now.

"What!?"

"Vic, did you actually read the article?"

"Well.....No" I admitted sheepishly.

"I was too angry!"

"Well, I can't say I blame you....it does look quite bad" he said.

"Vic, do you trust me?"

"Oh Ro! Of course I do. I'm sorry it's just that after Dan...."

I was close to tears now, how could I have ever doubted him.

"Vic" he said.

"Hmmmm?"

"I wanted to wait until I next saw you to tell you this, but I can't..."

"I love you"

My heart skipped a beat.

"I love you too"

maybe a little too much....

"Look" he continued, "I know you love your job and everything, but I miss you like crazy when I'm on the road. Do you want to come on tour with me?"

"Oh Ro, I'd love to, but I need to get back to work to earn some money!"

"You don't need any money" he said.

"Yes I do!"

"No you don't! I was going to pay you"

"To do what?" I said intrigued.

"Sing" he said, simply.

"Sing?!"

"Yes, sing" he repeated. There was stunned silence from my end of the phone.

"I heard you on your birthday remember, you've got a beautiful voice"

I blushed now.

"I like the girls I've got now" he continued, "But I'd much rather have you"

"Oh Ro!" I said, "I don't know what to say!"

"Yes..." he teased.

"I'll think about it" I said. He knew from my voice that I meant it.

"Babe, I'm sorry I've got to go now"

"Oh, ok I'll speak to you soon"

I put the phone down. I felt so guilty now, how could I have ever doubted him?

He loved me!!!
