When we eventually got back to our hotel, we all checked into our separate rooms, which we had for security reasons.
"403" Ro whispered in my ear.
I laughed quietly and showed him my key which said 404. We were next to each other anyway.
"Give me a knock in about five minutes, I need a shower, I'll all hot and sweaty" I smiled at him.
"What if I like you all hot and sweaty?" he said suggestively.
"Ronan!" I said laughing.
I took a quick shower and changed into a cooler dress that I'd bought with me, it was a beautiful evening although it was only May.
I picked up the card that Simon's P.A. had handed me...
There was a knock at the door. I went to open it still clutching the card. Ronan kissed me by way of greeting.
We went outside and sat on the balcony, looking out over the city. I put the card down on the table.
Ro picked it up and read it, frowning. I told him the story that I hadn't had chance to earlier...
"D'ya know, I think I read about that in the stage" he said.
"The stage?! You don't need to read that"
"I don't" he said, "it was left lying around on the tour bus, I think it was laura's" he laughed.
"Figures..." I said.
"I think you should do it"
"But I don't even know what 'it' is yet" I said.
"Oh yeah" he grinned at me. He explained what he'd read in the stage and noticed there was a website address on the bottom of the card.
Ro went to get his laptop, bought it back and set it up on the table. He logged onto the internet which automatically bought up the news page. I stared at it, there was a picture of me and Ronan at the airport.
Ronan Keating in airport clinch with mystery girl
Said the headline. I burst out laughing.
"Our get away didn't work!" I said.
Ronan laughed at the picture, "Evidently not.....mystery girl" he teased.
He typed in the address from the card and bought up the website,
Have you got the X Factor?
Said the front page. Ronan clicked where it said information and bought up a new page.
Britain's newest talent show. A search for a new singing sensation. Prize: £1 million record deal.
"See, I think you should do it!" said Ronan.
"But Ro, the auditions are in London" I said.
"So...."
"I've only just started singing with you!"
"Relax Vic, they're not until June" he said, reading further down the page.
"Oh"
"And I don't mind! I really think you should go for it, you've got real talent"
"Not as much as you" I said. "More" he said, leaning across the table to kiss me.
"Besides, if Simon Cowell's people are after you, I think the auditions are just a formality"
"Oh" I hadn't thought of it like that.
He looked at me lovingly. I got up and walked across to him, where he was still sat down. I put my arms around and kissed him gently, he kissed me back harder.
"Ro, not here" I said. I took his hand and led him into the room. He pushed me gently back onto the bed and started to undress me.
"Ronan Keating! Really! Twice in one day? You're insatiable" I teased.
"Now listen to me young lady. When I've waited this long for you to come along, twice a day is nothing"
I laughed.
"Is that a threat or a promise" I whispered.
"A promise" he said into my neck.
"Good"
